How do I make good friends?

I just moved to Starkville for my going to school at the Mississippi State University and I just realized that I know nobody at Starkville.

Yesterday, I went to the Oby's restaurant for lunch(by myself) and I noticed that I was the only one eating by myself so I thought I would use this as an opportunity to meet some people. I saw a group of guys(ages 19-21) sitting at one of the booths, they were laughing, so I walked over to them and sat down at the booth with them.

They were talking about Hangover 3 so I asked them about that scene in Iron Man 3 where Iron Man flies out of the air plane and they didn't say anything until one guy said something like, "Hey man, we're waiting on a friend who's sitting there. Could you get up?"

So I sat in the floor next to the booth. I asked them if they wanted to go see Iron Man 3 again with me but they didn't say anything. One of the waitress told me that I couldn't sit in floors so I left the restaurant.

Leaving Oby's, I accidentally backed into this guy's jeep and he ran outside saying something like, "Man, that's my jeep." and I apologized and asked him if he would like to go see Iron Man 3 with me and that I had already seen it once but I didn't mind seeing it again if he wanted to come. He started to call the police so I drove off because I didn't want to become arrested.

This was super sad day, I was just trying to make good friends in this new town but everyone here hates me. :(
