The first thing I thought of when I saw that picture was Nickelodean Studios.

Athens has a growing craft beer market. A couple have opened or are in the process of opening. Creature Comforts just opened and Southern Brewing is supposed to open this summer.

I am not surprised the CoMo has a similar brew culture as Fayetteville. We get a lot of back and forth with people moving to Colorado for a few years and coming back. I know at least a couple of the brewers here cut their teeth in Boulder and FoCo.

Creature Comforts just opened. There's also Copper creek. Southern Brewing Company will be open and running by next Fall. I think Wild Heaven might be considered an Athens brewery? At least the head brewer is from Athens. We also have great pubs like Trappeze - generally named in the Top-50 beer bars and there's 5 points bottle shop, which has one of the best craft-beer selections in the SE.

Athens actually has two craft breweries now:

Terrapin and Creature Comforts. CC hasn't begun bottling yet (they just opened shop downtown in April) but nearly every bar in Athens sells their beer and their brewery beats the shite out of Terrapin's. While you have to drive to get to Terrapin, Creature Comforts is right off Hancock Avenue downtown so you can drink plenty of their beer at the brewery and then safely stumble anywhere else you want to be afterward.

Then there's Copper Creek which is on the other side of the GA alcohol distribution law, brewing and distributing their own beer in house (which means they can't bottle and distribute anywhere else).

Beyond those three, Georgia has exploded with craft breweries including Sweetwater, Monday Night, Jekyll, Jailhouse, and Redbrick.

Tuscaloosa has Black Warrior and Druid City brewing companies respectively but since the SEC offices are in Birmingham can we count those? Avondale, Good People, Trim Tab, Cahaba, and Beer Engineers. Avondale and Good People are the two biggest in the market but the others are really trying to make a push. Mr Todd's double IPA and the spring street Saosin from Avondale are my personal favorites but for convince purposes the GP IPA is spot on as well

Knoxville with 4 currently.

3 more to pop up with in the next year.

Thanks to some new(er) litigation, the guys that were heading over the mountains to Asheville are starting to stay home. Which should help tremendously

Just who exactly are you trying to impress?

Not sure why you equate downing some ice cold beer with being gay, but whatever.

Starting in 2016, high gravity can be sold in grocery stores . Wine too, but I don't like wine.

Creature Comforts brewery looks pretty nice. I have been following them for a while. I graduated HS with one of the guys that started CC. He was working at Sweetwater and I think the other guy was at Twain's in Atlanta, so they know beer and I expect some great stuff. Also no bottles just cans.
