to pay for your meal? Had this happen twice this month. This last time was a pretty brunette. I just waved to thank her and she waved. I assume she was just being nice.

Is this a common thing? I've heard of churches doing this and leaving their church card with the cashier.

More importantly, did you get her digits?

If you mean license plate number, maybe.

We do it every now and then. I’m a hateful bastard, but somebody paid for ours once and my kids loved it. So now every once in a while my kids ask can we pay for the people behind us. Makes the kids happy and gives them a good feeling.

With my luck the peeps behind me would have an order for like 12 people and I'd be screwed.

Had this happen at starbucks once.

Our order was like $9 and the one behind us was like $7, so we just kept it going

You are supposed to keep it going. I hope you did. You pay for the person behind you and so on.

I've never had it happen to me, and I'm always afraid of doing it for the person behind that is ordering for a whole arse office/family event.

I should probably start doing it more often to help even out my karmic values.

I've never had this happen, but I think people usually ask. Someone in line buying $40 worth of stuff definitely gets left out of this lol.

In that case you can try the person behind them or whatever I guess.

Happens to me quite often. I do it for others quite often as well. Sometimes a simple act of kindness like that can make someone's day better.

If you do this, it is important to pay attention to how many kids are in the vehicle behind you or you may end up buying 8 happy meals and #3 combo plus your own order like I have done.

Never happened to me, but I rarely go through a fast food drive-thru.

Lots of the megachurches push this. I wish they would pay for the meal and give it to someone who needs it. Appreciate the kindness, but I can buy my own food. A lot of folks out there can't.

I always enjoy the free meal. Especially when someone else gave me their card to pickup some food. I'm not going to pay for someone's food with my co-worker's card.

Happens most of the time for me.

It's expected at this point. I don't go to the drive-thru unless there is a car or two already in line now.
