When you're anonymous it gives you more freedom to speak your mind without worrying about social or professional repercussions should someone you know stumble across your posts. But if you tack a picture of yourself to every post you make obviously that negates the benefit.

What I like about message boards is the ability to discuss potentially controversial topics without the possibility of straining relationships by engaging those same issues with friends, family members, and colleagues. I think quite a bit differently than most people I know, so boards like this one provide a good outlet for me.
