It's a chicken. It's chicken with a dumb brainless head. What other purpose could it possibly serve?

It's also a theropod, a carnivorous dinosaur of a group whose members are typically bipedal and range from small and delicately built to very large. Every chicken retains all the genes of the theropods from which it descended.
Some scientists are trying to bring back all of the therapods. So, as you're snacking on that chicken leg, you just be aware that the chicken's ancestors ate far more of your mammalian ancestors than humans will ever consume chickens.
The worm, or in this case chicken, may very well turn in the near future.
ETA: Note the very fast gray pullet racing through the pack on the right. Not all of her theropod genes have been turned off by evolution, apparently. She smells toddler leg.

Pablo Neruda was a Chilean poet, and one of my favorites.
His poem " A Certain Weariness" has a stanza ....
"I'm tired of the harsh sea
and the mysterious earth.
I'm tired of chickens--
we never know what they think,
and they look at us with dry eyes
as though we were unimportant."
Yes, I know.. not relative to this thread much, but hey I got to mention Pablo Neruda.
