Just say no to defacing Stone Mountain!

quote:

Deal, in definitive language, sent the message that he will support no legislative changes to the monument. Critics, he said, should instead focus on the plight of failing schools, one of his signature priorities.

Said Deal:

“I would ask those who think this is such a big issue, if they would exert the same amount of influence and time and effort to try to make sure that the children in our school systems in this state who are in failing schools get a good education, it will erase any of the things that they think the memorials symbolize. I would hope they see that in the same light in which I do.”

And so do Stone Mountain Park execs!

quote:

Calls for boycotts of the park have been met by decisions by the attraction’s leaders to keep flying the Rebel flags on the monument’s grounds.

Well that's just racist as hell because it makes sense.

I can't imagine the bleeding vagina's wanting to sandblast Stone Mountain are the target paying audience for their park. I'm sure that boycott will really hurt em.

Are you implying the lottery is/was a bad thing?

There are thousands upon thousands of people in Georgia who got their college education paid for because of the lottery.

Fun Fact:

5 of the ten worst performing K-12 schools in Georgia are also in the top ten of highest funded.

Fun Fact Conclusion:

Teacher Salary and New Computers don't translate to better education.

Fun Fact Action Item:

There are much closer correlations to a school's performance such as the demographic makeup of the students. Why?

Most of these idiots don't even realize that Stone Mountain Park is privately operated.

True, in America today, common sense is racist. It's sad.

Apparently it is because some can't figure it out.

I played at Stone Mountain Little League when I was a kid, and went to the laser show whenever family came in town to visit.

I always thought it was strange that they played "I'm proud to be an American" on a memorial to Confederate leaders. Obviously, you aren't proud to be an American, because you wish the South won. If they had it there way, they wouldn't be an American.

It makes me sad for Rand that the Georgia governor actually has a set. Rand should have come out with a statement like this after the church shooting instead of getting down on his knees for the pc establishment

Because if it were the Confederate States of America. it wouldn't still be America - right?

thanks for clearing that up for us...

Hmmm...you know what all the families attending a laser show think in regards to events from 100+ years ago?

Fascinating.

Instead of you assuming that every member of the audience wishes the South had won, could it be....that it's simply a fun, family friends event for young and old to sit out on a blanket with friends and loved ones and watch some harmless laser show fun?

Yeah! HE STOOD UP TO THOSE LIBERALS!

He quadrupled the Georgia gas tax, but at least he stood up for Stone Mountain!
