I saw one eating at a Torchys Tacos a year ago by himself. I think he was a fox. Had a tail and furry paw feet and everything. He was also asian so perhaps par for the course.

I'm a graphic designer and when I was in college I'm pretty sure we had one in my class. She kinda kept to herself and she loved to draw Humanoid foxes but the wierdest thing is she always had a foxtail tucked in and hanging out of her pants.
Some years later while doing some legitimate research on the asstastic subreddit I discovered that tail was a buttplug. Same markings on the tail and everything.
So yeah they let their freak flags fly.

If they exist, I don't hate'm; they're not hurting anyone or interfering with my business. But I sure don't get it.
I suspect the knowledge that most people don't understand them, incentives them to keep that shite on the down-low. How smart am I, if I can't even figure why people are into it?
If I had to speculate: they're pretending to be more primitive mammals to make their carnal activity more primal? Or maybe it's just latent bestiality urges manifesting. I ain't Sigmund Freud.

I think its the whole putting on the costume lets you become something completely different then what you are in real life thing.
Most of us do that to a much lesser extent when we play a video game or watch a movie. These people... well they take it to the extreme.
But, as you said, what they want to do is their business. I don't get it, but they are welcome to fly that freak flag proudly.

Definitely role play, but also a level of infantilization at play. They’re not just role playing... they’re role playing stuffed animals (I don’t think they’re role playing the actual animal... it is much more cartoonish).
