Its kinda fricked up that they would do that to their children. They are taking them from their family and friends to force them to into poverty. At least wait til your kids are grown.

I also thought about this. One of them is already in college and will be returning at the end of the summer. But the other one is still in High School. I would've at least waited till she left for college and had money set aside just to pay for education.

Still not a valid reason. There are more than enough homeless/needy here in the U.S. So, if this wasn't a total "look at how good I am move," then why is it even in the news? This is nothing more than a ego boost for them. Still frick them.

If we won the power ball my wife and I would probably do something like this for a year or two... At least until we decided where we wanted to live... I wouldn't let anyone run a news article on us though.

Some of you folks just suck. I think what they're doing is honorable and even if they die, they died trying to help their fellow man. Whether you're religious or not, if you can't get behind that and support it, I don't know what to tell you. You just suck.

Why don't you go to Kenya?

I think it's as equally honorable as it is retarded.

I knew someone was about to post this.

I'm not going to Kenya because I don't feel called or led by God to go to Kenya.

This family is obviously very spiritual and is trusting not only that God is calling them to do what they're doing but also that he will provide the means for them to do it, both monetarily and practically.

ETA: You think it's retarded because you can't imagine stepping outside of yourself and putting the needs of others first. I can't either. It's a special person that can get to the point where they can do that.

I think it's retarded because I've spent years in 2nd and 3rd world countries and studied the Militias and the religous shifts going on there as well, but what do I know..

I'll tell you what I know, It may work out fine but if they get turned inside out like a pair of gym socks don't ask God why it happened..

What's your point? Does the U.S. have to be perfect before somebody goes and help others? The needy in Africa need more help than those in the U.S. And they have less help available to them.

Give me one reason why the needy in the U.S. should have priority over the needy in Africa.

If they wanted to do a "look at me" stunt, they could've done something that didn't completely uproot their lives. Maybe it's the news to encourage other people to do it. Even if it was a "look at me" stunt at least they're helping people in the process.

Still frick them.

Yes frick them for helping people. Those bastards.

If God wanted me in Kenya, he would have had me born there like....other Kenyans.

This begs the question, why did God fill Kenya with stupid and incompetent people?

I kinda agree with this. There are people locally who "oh my god they are adopting Haitains, they are such gooooood people" and predictably they are on the news every time they sneeze/fart.

I believe a lot of this kind of behavior is indeed, attention-seeking and "I'm a great person, look at me" type of behavior.

Sounds like they have a calling and have been inspired to do something they feel is important. Best of luck to them.

They are putting their entire family in danger, both physically and financially.
