The recidivism rate for meth users is phenomenal. As mentioned, there's no going back.
It's amazing how the use of meth ages people so quickly. We see the effects on their faces but their entire bodies are affected.

People do meth because it's cheap, widespread and easy to obtain pretty much everywhere south of the Mason-Dixon and authorities pay relatively little attention to it.
If stuff like opiates and cocaine were legal (and thus cheaper) you'd have many meth users switching t those because they are infinitely better highs.

Link? When you have to be carded just to buy the basic ingredients it makes me think otherwise. Then of course there is the expense of cleaning up the labs.
Believe me, Meth gets plenty of Legislative and Executive Branch attention.
