What a terrible story. White Rock Lake is one of the best assets Dallas has.
From dallasnews.com:

Monday was a grueling day for Dallas homicide detectives. The jogger was one of four people who were slain in three unconnected attacks, all not far from White Rock Lake.
I haven't seen anybody comment on this in the thread yet. Maybe I missed it but I always thought White Rock was a nice area. That's scary as hell that three different attacks happened in that area in one day.

It's all pretty ghetto-adjacent. There are some high-end areas like Lakewood, and Lake Highlands has always been decent. There are lots of ghetto areas mixed in there, though.

Strong competitor with Tropic Lightning for douche of the thread, tbh

If anyone in this thread has ever done anything to help the mentally ill in a general sense, I'd love to hear about it.

It's just a sad tale with no winners. Kid was a top recruit and immensely talented. Seemed to be a good teammate and was doing very well. Some thought he was the top WR recruit in the country that year and he definitely had NFL talent. This was his first game against UF he pulls of this catch showing the promise of his talent:
Season goes along great and he makes a couple key grabs including a big 3rd down catch against Bama. Then suddenly he just disappears and no one can find him. He shows up about a week later in Dallas and quits the team, never comes back to school. No warning, just gone. A&M tried to reach out to help him but he had no interest and there are strong rumors of mental health issues but the school can't confirm anything of course. In the coming weeks and through the offseason there were thoughts he might come back but he had just fallen off the deep end into the abyss.
Then 3 years later this story. A ruined life and a murder. At least he turned himself in before he killed others. Mental diseases are brutal.

I work in counseling?
But I'm sure you have some cute spin on that too.

To be fair, people who talk about helping the mentally ill are doing just that. Talking. There's not a single person in this thread who has ever done anything to help the mentally ill in a general sense. All you bleeding hearts do is TALK.
Nope, but there is no point in arguing it with you, all I can do is invite you to come with me sometime when I volunteer at a couple of places, it's not much but it's all I'm equipped and educated to do.

Ok, so you're a school counselor. Not sure how that's helping to solve the mental health problem in this country.
Got any other ideas?

Ah yes. The inevitable Stonehog spin.
What exactly do you think school counselors do?

Apparently they post on message boards all day.

Translation: I got called on my bullshite. I have no clue what they do. So I'm going to talk message board posting habits smack talk.

How many kids have you diagnosed?
Posted on 10/13/15 at 3:13 pm to Stonehog
A psychologist typically does a diagnosis. So do you think mental health care begins and ends with a diagnosis?
School counselors (as well as school-based mental health counselors) are typically involved in the treatment after the diagnosis.
You know, "doing something about mental healthcare in this country".

No shite. And school counsellors typically administer standardized tests when they're not on a coffee break or shopping online.
Get over yourself.
Also, remember when you said this:

Thanks for finally answering my earlier question you dodged.
You never fail to disappoint when you show your ignorance.
