I'm much bigger fan of the 5 beers and 1 horizontal workout.

That's exactly what I thought.

"Eat your damn berries"
"Slinging steel"
"Midget tossing 20 yr olds"
Unsolicited announcement of his bench max
Etc, etc, etc

Hey Tantal, that dude doesn't like to use the word "clean" because he doesn't want to be lumped in with douche bags like you

Yeah, I get it. But here's the dirty little secret.......I'm a recovering fatass. There was a point that I was at 5'10/240 lbs with very little muscle mass. I was just a quivering glob of gelatinous goo. I'd get winded bending over to tie my shoes because the fat in my midsection would cut off my ability to breathe when I bent over. I would respond to a domestic disturbance call on the 3rd floor of an apartment building and realize that after climbing a mere 2 flights of stairs with my 240 pound arse and 25 more pounds of gear that I was of no use. I would have to stop and catch my wind before knocking on the door. I couldn't defend myself, my coworkers, or anyone who might be in danger.

I eventually determined a few things:
#1-My wife deserved to have a husband around and that my kids deserved to have a father around to pay for their college.

#2-The taxpayers paying my salary deserved to have an officer that was physically capable of handling their emergency.

#3-My coworkers' lives might depend on my ability to defend them.

So, having no one to blame but myself for my obesity, I decided to actually do something about it. Do you really think that I enjoy eating grilled chicken and asparagus out of a Tupperware dish every day? No, I hate that shite. Do you think that after a 10 hour shift I really enjoy an hour or two at the gym? No. I'd rather be at home with my family, kicked back in my recliner with a beer in my hand.

So, I get the douchebag comment, but I have people depending on me for financial support and physical protection.

I guess the real douche bag test lies with this question...

Do you think marijuana should be legal? If no, why?

As long as I can adequately defend myself (I'm a cop) and bitches want to hit this, I'm good. I'm not looking for trophies, just a good quality of life....which I have. In fact, my daughter told me today "Paige and Hannah (two of her friends) think you're hot."
Now, I'm happily married and don't dig on younger girls, but that tells me that I'm doing something right.

I'm going to go with IDGAF. I fully expect for user amounts to be legal before I retire in 12-14 years. I've got mixed emotions on the legalization of drugs. On the one hand we'll probably be looking at higher rates of intoxication, particularly in public places......and all of the problems that accompany that. OTOH, legalization will help diminish the violence currently associated with the drug trade. Either way, I'll just adapt.

Good on you, man! Seriously.

Props to you for turning yourself around and for your motivation to do so.

A small recommendation IMHO though: let the results speak for themselves.
