Had enough beach trips for a bit, what’s your favorite 3-day weekend spot? Trying to decide where to go in the fall.

I recommend Asheville, NC, especially if you're visiting in the fall. The city is neat and there's plenty of things to do nearby, including the Biltmore. Good food and beer, too.

DSSOLVR, Burial, Wicked Weed, Dirty Jack’s, Eurisco, etc.

As a side note, if anybody actually does happen to visit Asheville, I also recommend the comedy ghost bus tour at LaZoom. Don’t want to spoil it any more than that, but if you like dark humor, it’s 100% worth an hour.

if you're up for a plane ride, Manhattan is great.

Chattanooga. Anywhere in the Smokies, Arkansas, find a lake.

You did a usual thing of not telling anyone what you like before asking for suggestions.

That’s a good one too (for me, anyway).

A lot of this of course is also dependent on logistics. If it takes most of a day to get there and most of a day to get back, you’re only really getting to enjoy one day at your destination.

Proximity is a huge factor for a three-day trip.

Ya’ll oughtta check out the Buckee’s @ exit 49 off I-10 in Robertsdale.

Roll down another mile or so down south on the Main Drag, and you’ll find the Dollar General by which ALL other Dollar Generals are measured by.

From there it’s just a hop, skip and a jump over to Rippin’ Reaper in Fairhope for the freshest bait in the Bay area… with more fishing & tackle gear than you can shake a Shakespeare ugly-stick at.

Smithsonian

Spring or Fall is best but that place never fails to inspire and women feel like it is attending a huge garage sale with good shopping and fine dining nearby.

win - win

Do you like the lake and outdoors? Or the casino? Or would you and your wife (or whoever) like a relaxing spa day? Lots of artsy/cool/boutique shops, lots of really good food choices. Yes? Well go to Hot Springs then.

I used to think the same. However, the last time we visited, heroin addicts were everywhere in the downtown area.

I had never noticed that before.
