I could give two shits if I was a brother or not. I had a hell of a college experience without being in a fraternity. I didn't have to pay for friends and I was free to do whatever. Couldn't ask for a better college life.
Fraternities weren't important to me.

@Randy dude I think you should absolutely do rush, since Ole Miss' bid is so far into the fall semester it's a great thing for meeting new people and getting FREE booze ... FOR FREE.
But I also think it would be a good idea for you to pledge as well. It isn't really as bad as some make it out to be, usually these are the people that never tried or dropped out the first week, and I think it's something you would really enjoy being a part of, now I know its not a must do but as a person you did pledge and have many friends that didn't I can sure you it won't really matter either way. But, I will encourage you to do so because I don't think you'll really understand it until your in it and for one such as you that experience can be very beneficial and really allow you to come out of your shell.
