I didn't support Iraq, and I certainly don't support this. All we're going to end up doing is putting Muslim extremists in control like we did in Afghanistan many years ago. Look how that one turned out

While the Libertarian Party has some legit points, the fact that people like you make up a majority of it really keeps it from being successful.

Muslim extremists have been in control in the Middle East since history has been recorded. They're always going to fight. It's not our obligation to step in, but it is a capability I don't have a problem with. Bombing the shite out of evil people doesn't make me lose sleep at night

NO. Going into Syria is a mistake and a waste of time, money and most importantly American lives.

It's about the stability. The current regime doesn't threaten the US. The new one very well could, and that has happened to us before

Neither Russia nor anyone else will be directly taking us on to support Bashar Assad and the ones that will take indirect actions to support him (Iran) are already doing it.

Having said that, there isn't a single good thing that will come of it. At best, you'll just wind up with Assad the sequel. More likely, you'll end up with an Iranian or Al-Qaeda puppet with a shaitload of chemical weapons at their disposal.

The U.S. is backing Syrian Rebels, who have Al Qeada backing and is tied with other terrorist groups.

quote:

Testimony from victims strongly suggests it was the rebels, not the Syrian government, that used Sarin nerve gas during a recent incident in the revolution-wracked nation, a senior U.N. diplomat said Monday.

quote:

But she said her panel had not yet seen any evidence of Syrian government forces using chemical weapons, according to the BBC, but she added that more investigation was needed.

Damascus has recently facing growing Western accusations that its forces used such weapons, which President Obama has described as crossing a red line.

I've always thought it would make more sense for the rebels to do it and then blame the government since they're losing the war. Getting the West involved through something like this would definitely be to their advantage

The other thing is that the U.S. had been training Syrian rebels since 2012, and they recently moved across the border, shortly BEFORE the chemical attack happened. Over 700 rebels were trained by CIA operatives.

Seems there may have just been another chemical attack. Syrian Gov't has allowed UN inspectors access to the other attack scene, and now they would attack again?

Dude, you're an idiot. Cool 'Rand Paul' bumper sticker, I've been on the Paul train since I was 16. Over 10 years. Its now a 'trendy' thing because people are finally 'sort of' waking up. I've now moved on a bit, maybe where I'm at now will be trendy in another 10 years. Which of course will be too late, just as getting on the Paul wagon now is too late.

You're definitely more in the loop on this than me.. It's hard for me to follow events as they happen because I have so little trust in what I'm told. Usually let things settle for a bit and then go back and dig for what really happened.
