not really, but I'm forced to listen to it often on account of having a girlfriend who looooves all of the really sappy stuff (thankfully, not Taylor Swift, though)

Taylor Swift isn't sappy county, it's just pop music. I Knew You Were Trouble? Not gonna lie, if that came on the radio I would blast it, it was catchy, but it wasn't a country song in even the vaguest sense.

going to see them this weekend. I'm excited one of the last country acts I haven't seen that I really wanted to go see.

she likes stuff like "You make my speakers go boom boom". and "Cowboys and Angels", "Crazy Girl", and any other sappy thing on modern country right now. The only artist she likes that I kinda like is Brad Paisley because he never takes himself seriously anyways.

It's ok, she also likes classic rock so it evens out. She likes lame country that I don't like, and I like metal and ska that she doesn't like. But we both like funk, classic rock, and swamp pop.

Guess I'll be the first to say nope. Don't enjoy it at all.

Might be the first thing we've ever agreed on.
I don't like ALL Texas country, but most it is very good imo.

I like the old country when it was really singing from the soul. The new country music is a pop performance and complete crap.
Same can be said for old school rap. I love some old Warren G, Snoop, Dre, and Biggie, but the new stuff is crap.

Yes, I like the old stuff. There is still good country out there, you just have to search and won't find it on the radio.
The Black Lillies, Hayes Carll, Justin Townes Earle, Avett Bros just to name a few. Then you have all the more notable Americana/Folk acts that have done it at a high level for a long time. There is still a ton of good music out there.
Edit: Maybe those I named aren't really "country", but good music nonetheless.
