Have you ever had breakfast at a Krystal's?

I think they have merged and killed the original menu that had pretty good food. Corned beef hash is no longer on the menu and their eggs benedict has gone to crap. Belle, do you go to the one near the Target? I used to hit them a lot but in Da Ville there is only 1 place for breakfast food, and that is the mom and pop place near dirty Kroger that only takes cash. Better than Tolly Ho in LEX and better prices.

I certainly enjoy Waffle House. However, Dot's Diner here in the New Orleans area is basically Waffle House with a bigger menu. That's usually my go-to.

WH employees have always been some of the best service people to me and the place is dead on consistently good.
Did learn that the only difference between WH and Huddle House is a biscuit.

One of my biggest complaints about the PNW is the lack Of a Waffle House. Denny's is ok but nobody does hash browns like the WH. We always eat there when visiting down south.

Waffle House has a reputation of being dirty and trashy for some reason but whenever I've gone there, it's been great. I mean, everything is made fresh right in front of your face. Not sure what more could be expected.

The one close to me has turned me against them.... place is nasty. Broke eggs under the cooks feet, even seen 2 roaches last...and I do mean last time I was there.

I like Waffle House as a 2 am drunk meal
If you roll up to Waffle House at 2 am an your cook is outside smoking a cigarette with you before you go in, you're about to get an awesome meal.

I used to hate WH, mostly because of the havoc it wrought on my digestive tract. My stomach can tolerate it now that I don't drink as much, and I eat there at least once a month for breakfast.
All-Star Special - eggs over medium, grits, wheat toast, bacon, regular waffle.

Everything there is amazing, especially the pancakes and the grits of the day.

I bought some crappy weed from a WH waitress on Christmas Eve 20 or so years ago. Gave me an awful headache.

It's funny that most Waffle House employees are such trash, because for anybody that doesn't have a college degree (or has a shitty college degree) and has any remote inkling of intelligence and ambition, Waffle House actually has a great manager training program. Seriously. I think the actual training program isn't that long, then you become a shift manager, then assistant manager. If you show any kind of aptitude for the job and leadership they say you can have your own store in about a year. Do well with the store and they have so many that they keep handing you more. About 5 years after you start you can work your way up to a regional manager over several locations and making 6 figures a year. Only problem is that until your considered a regional manager and answer directly to corporate, even a person who is a manager over more than one store has to work shifts as a cook. I think that is where a lot of people can't quite cut it. You have the type of people who are cooks and the types that are managers, and not a lot of people can handle both for years that it takes to climb the ladder and they end up moving on.

So what if I did? You probably cash a monthly welfare check and want to make jokes about a company where somebody like you, without a college degree, could work their way up to 6 figures in a relatively short amount of time? If I did work there then it sounds like I'd be doing a lot better than you..
I did work in a similar place for about 3 years in college. I would love to own a WF franchise. Places like that, especially in the right location, absolutely rake in money. But I hated being behind the grill and dealing with the general public, I don't think I could make myself do it again for a single shift, let alone the time it would take to climb the WF ladder.
Honestly though if somebody went to work there directly out of HS and were a good worker and were able to start climbing the management ladder, then by the time most of their friends graduated college with a frick ton of debt, they could be doing very good for themselves. Work at a place like that for 20 years and climb the ladder up to corporate ladder, you could retire around 40 with a very nice salary and start a whole second career while already drawing a pension. Meanwhile, theres people your age that are probably still paying off student loans from a shitty liberal arts degree that led to a worthless career with no room for upward mobility.
I really think that high schools should teach kids that oppurtunites like that exist as alternatives, as well as teaching trades, instead of pushing every single student towards college when it's obvious that not everybody is an academic type meant for college.
