Tracy Lawrence is from Foreman, Arkansas.

Born in Atlanta, Texas, on the Louisiana border, but did grow up in Foreman.

Also, just down the road from Foreman was Collin Raye. The main street in DeQueen is named after him.

I tried to like country music but one listen to David Allan Coe's racist lyrics and that was enough for me. Trash music.

Also the mother of Cher is from Arkansas. Toby Keith Grandma is from Fort Smith.

The song grandma Harp from Merle Haggard is about his grandmother from Newton County in Arkansas.

So one the lyrics of one guy's song made you judge an entire genre of music? Cool story.

It was terrible. I imagine it was on every KKK member's playlist. The racist nonsense aside, the twang is irritating to the ears. Cannot understand how people can listen to it.

I'm sure it was traumatizing. Does your insurance include counseling?

The "Rooster" was based on Alice in Chains' guitarist/vocalist, Jerry Cantrell's father (Jerry Cantrell Sr.), whose lifelong nickname was "Rooster." Cantrell Sr. served two combat tours in Vietnam, and also appears in the music video talking about his war experiences. Cantrell Sr.'s scenes were filmed on what was then Cantrell's great uncle's property and is now the site of Jerry Cantrell's family ranch in Atoka, Oklahoma.

Jerry Cantrell wrote the song.

For the rockers among us.
