Give me some George Jones covers by The Avett Brothers and I'll be good.

That'd be good too.

That would be awesome. Please tell me this is out there on the interwebz somewhere.

Not yet, but it'd be damn awesome. I wouldn't be surprised to see them do it with his passing though.

I'd rather hear one from Alan Jackson.

Alan Jackson is country's version of Nickelback. I change the channel with quickness every time I hear that annoying voice.

Nope, that title is held by many, one being Jason Aldeen.

I haven't had a problem with Aldean until this 1994 shitshow he just released. That gets turned off quickly as well.

I saw George in concert March 22nd. He still put on a good show, but it was obvious that he was a very sick man.

We thought about getting tickets for his big finale show in November at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, but they were sold out except for the $1000 a ticket VIP seats.

He was struggling so much, my girlfriend wondered aloud if he would live long enough to do that last show.

I'm glad we "came to see him one last time".

Omg, I know. He and that song are nauseating. I still don't understand why he "made it."

I feel this way toward about 90% of the country stars (and I use that term loosely these days) that have "made it" since about the turn of the century.

Yeah, unfortunately, it is easy to remember the words, even for old goats, I guess.

Think I'll crack a beer and listen to my Jones play list for a little while. One of the most influential musicians of any genre.

There are some I like, then some are just too cheesy like Luke Bryan. Keith Whitley, I loved, and reminded me a little of George Jones. I think he would have been a mega star had he lived. It's too bad he died so young.

I think so, too. I hated country growing up except for George Jones. He's still one of my favorite artists of any genre.

that song is awful he has some ok stuff. The main reason he is famous is because he puts on a hell of a show. His concerts are really good, he sang everything from his stuff to genie in a bottle, to enter sandman. It was a fun time, a lot of his songs are shite though.
