I say chase, it's hard to know really.

What's the OT ruling on this one?

YouTube - Cop. Bikes. Annoying Woman...

GDit. Please move to OT

need more context

what was the guy being chased for?

cops causing a crash during a chase is done all the time

seems more dangerous for a guy on a bike; but when the blue lights come on and you run away, you are escalating the situation

I am not super outraged by that video

I'm assuming he was supposed to stop and didn't. I would prefer the officer use his revolver and shoot out the tire, but the fender works too.

Don't break the law, and if you didn't break the law, stop when a cop tells you to and this likely won't happen.

I love it when they crash. They think they own the roads.

It’s bullshite. Hope the cop gets in trouble. It’s one thing to pull a maneuver like that on someone in a car, it’s something else entirely to pull that shite on a dude on a bike. The probability of serious bodily injury or death is present, and I doubt that guy was being stopped for more than a traffic violation.

Which is why he should have pulled over. As soon as he ran, he was being pulled over for more than just a traffic violation.

I'd bet anything you are wrong

most people do not jump into a high speed escape attempt over a simple traffic violation

Dude got what he had coming, actually less than he had coming. The crowd seems typical of the street bike mobs that are growing lately and ruining the trips and risking the safety of drivers and pedestrians across the country.

We need to go back to the James Arness style lawman. If they just start gunning down some of these outlaws in the street things will improve quite rapidly.

Blue lights mean stop. You run, you're subject to a take down by whatever means necessary.

I haven't watched the video yet. But cops shouldn't (and mostly dont) chase people when it endangers the general public.

I agree that the perp is putting his/her own safety aside when running from cops. But cops can't chase without caution to the general public. Those are the limits.
