How affordable are houses anywhere close to fun parts of town? Ill go crazy if I live in suburbs again.

I actually like the suburbs, but mine are by some of the fun parts of town (NW side). Housing is crazy affordable. Traffic is a bitch (even though SA traffic isn't really bad at all for how big the city is), but I don't mind traffic, really.

I like Fort Worth and Dallas. Worked there for a couple of months while living in Houston.

Spent about 1 month in Austin, it was ok but liked Dallas and Fort Worth better.

Spent a few weekend in San Antonio. Was ok and riverwalk is neat but feel it would get boring fast.

Spent 2 years in Houston. Also lived in Atl for 3 years. Atl is more fun, prettier, and more to do than Houston. Both are similar in size, traffic and suburbs commutes.

All of the above in Texas << any place I've lived in south Florida though.

Yeah, I think everybody saw Kawhi in a Duncan/ Admiral mold. And I completely understand wanting to go play for your hometown, but I doubt anybody could have predicted the way it would be handled. The Spurs definitely played Kawhi up in the role of silent leader like Duncan though, with that story about how he still drove the same car he had in HS and everything.

I guess the fact that he's a quiet guy who wasn't highly touted/owed his stardom to the spurs system kind of hid whatever drama tendencies he apparently has. I feel like this is the kind of brouhaha the fanbase always expected from Tony Parker, but never got because he's more loyal/Spursian than people give him credit for. Much moreso than Kawhi, apparently.

The timing of it, too, just caught everyone off guard. I mean, last we saw Kawhi at the peak of his powers, we were blowing the Warriors the frick out in their own gym in the WCF, and he was finishing top 2-3 in the MVP voting. Most reasonable folks assumed he'd be chomping at the bit to come back and finish what we started. Instead he gets cleared to play but refuses to do so. Who the frick does that who's a true competitor? Makes no sense.

I'm over it already honestly. Im ready to move on and rebuild. Going to tough to watch the Spurs rebuild though, you know I've been a fan since 01 and there hasn't been a losing season I've witnessed yet... It'll be weird for sure.

Yeah I'm over it as well. Just want a resolution so we fans can know what vector the team is pursuing, with or without Kawhi. I've been a Spurs fan since the early 90s so I remember a few bad/losing seasons (like '97 when David and Elliott were hurt), but never a full rebuild, either. Gonna be interesting.

San Marcos/New Braunfels area is awesome

Why not move back to Fort Worth? Tarrant County is on fire right now. You could tear it up

Im considering DFW specifically Fortt Worth. It sounds kinda cheeky but I love the stockyards, Billy Bobs and two stepping country bars. One of my favorite things about Texas is being able to go to a bar and hear country music. Also love Texas country music.

Btw thanks everyone for the suggestions

Not a huge country music person but Texas country from the early 2000s holds a special place in my heart. Once saw Pat Green put on a hell of a concert at Billy Bob's.

Just bite the bullet and move to Austin.

Being broke in Austin is way better than being in shitty DFW

Lived in Denver for a year and a half. Loved it despite working 2-3 jobs at a time and barely getting by(though learning a trade that will help starting a new biz).

You don't have to be an OT baller to live in Austin. There are plenty of affordable spots in town.
