Although you are correct, I would say that Christianity sort of organized the people. While it was the logic and reason teachings that formed the basis of the scientific method and government that really allowed western civilization to thrive.

I think Robot makes a good point about the advancement of Middle Eastern countries/civilization in comparison to our own. It's easy to evolve when you have a government that facilitates a positive evolution that isn't based on religious beliefs.

I've also never lived in a 3rd world shithole though. They might not have had anything to live for, or future to look forward to. If you have nothing, you'll listen to anyone that says they'll take care of you and your family.

FWIW, I work with a lot of families who have through our English as a Second Language program. And being in counseling I've gotten the chance to have some pretty unique conversations with these families. And the sense I get is pretty much what you've said in that if you don't have the money to get out you're stuck and you best abide by the laws or you die. Aside from maybe one or two who didn't particularly care for the fact that I was female (and didn't respect me as a result), I haven't had any issues with the Muslim families I work with. If anything a lot of those kids/families are far more respectful of the adults in our building then kids/families that have grown up here. I do think the large part of that is that they've seen life outside of the bubble of the country they came from and have an appreciation for what we have here.

Robot Santa the only thing I disagree with is that I think we should have as much compassion for the innocents in those countries who have to go through that as we do for those in our own countries. I think if we think can have compassion for all we will have a better chance to overcome violence and evil from all groups. I also think the only hope for we as a society to keep advancing is to start thinking of ourselves as one world first and foremost.

That inhuman piece of scum in the video can carry his worthless arse back to the East African shite hole he came from if he wants to behead people.

What is he, Somalian? That's a whole 'nother kind of crazy. The Russian Navy has adopted a pretty effective way of dealing with Somalians.

I don't have much faith in the ability of others to reciprocate any warm fuzzy feelings.

Unfortunately, some people respond better to bullets and bombings than they do to any form of reason.

I am talking compassion for the innocents who greatly outnumber the evil people in the world. Evil deserves what comes to it.

I'm not saying we shouldn't. If people living in those 3rd world shite holes want to move to the UK, France, America, Canada or where the hell ever in order to peacefully live their lives without fear of being executed for being a rape victim or having their hands chopped off for stealing an orange, have at it. The people who want to impose their fricked up sense of morality on our society and demand that we all accept it are the ones who I couldn't a give less of a frick about. It's a much, much bigger problem in Europe than it is here fortunately.

The Quran preaches and encourages violence. I wish the rest of the somewhat civilized world would stand up to this shite.

I assume most verses that would support violence are from the Old Testament right?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Old Testament is still a part of the Bible. Churches still cover much of the Old Testament.

Would you like to to quote some verses? Because I can. There are plenty of them.

I didn't say it wasn't. It was a question.

I'm not as studied on the Word as I once was.

But much of the early books meanings were changed when Christ came. And most teach it that way.

Most of those who practice Islam are not following the most violent parts of the Quran. Most Islamic leaders don't teach that stuff, just as most Christian leaders don't teach the horrible writings contained in parts of the Bible.

Yeah. I think the difference would be that the Bible had literally dozens of authors, while the Quran is the word of Allah thru Mohammad. I'm going to not show a picture of Mohammad here.

Oh. I agree with that. Plenty of harm is done under the Christian name.

Would you get banned if you posted a picture of Mohammad?
