I can think of about 100 things that would really make "black lives matter" instead of this dumb shite
That would get less attention and be productive. ....eff that.

No what makes them hypocrites is that they're spending their time protesting in a lily white part of town insteads of actually acting like black lives matter and putting their time into improving those lives. Meh. Not disagreeing with what you're saying, but no one is obligated to be the most efficient in their grievances, or not allowed to have a grievance if their time can be used more efficiently elsewhere. The Ferguson thing seems like a dude robbed a convenience store, and went after a cops gun and ended up dead. The guy getting choked out was ridiculous. Again, I think it's cops having little man syndrome, not racism. I mean race might have made them feel more comfortable with using excessive force, but it's a cops being pricks issue in my mind. And what's come out of it? More and more pressure for cops to wear body cams, which statistics have shown drop police officer complaints(by white and black citizens) staggering amounts. Some instances of up to 90%. So yes, they could spend their time improving the community instead of pointing a finger, and I think all of those things you mentioned would do more good than what they are doing, but I don't think that makes them hypocrites. Am I allowed to think that something is a problem unless I devote all my free time to personally solving it? As I stated, they are making race the only issue, instead of it being one of the lesser truths, but still, people are allowed to protest without making them hypocrites, IMO.
Again, just my opinion.

You mean even when they're breaking the law while bitching about cops breaking the law?

I mean they should have gotten a permit. Their stupidity doesn't make them hypocrites.
Posted on 12/20/14 at 4:20 pm to BluegrassBelle
The law doesn't apply to them.
Luckily they all have M-F jobs and didn't have to take off.

As you said, meh. I think it's terribly hypocritical to complain about laws being broken while breaking laws themselves. Or to complain about the state of the black community while doing nothing to improve it. Sorry, standing on a corner and buying a t-shirt with a trendy slogan isn't improving "black lives".

So you know all the people that are protesting?

I listen to the local rap/hiphop station here in Bham. They were covering the #blacklivesmatter protest Friday here in town. The DJ pointed out that 80% of the protesters were Caucasian and laughed about it.

How is illegally blocking traffic in a predominantly white part of town improving it?
ETA: And glad you're following me around today to downvote my posts.

You're saying that these people never do anything to improve the community. How would you know?

Well given that I work in a predominantly black school and looking at the photos of who was there, I can safely say they've never stepped foot in our school to volunteer their services or to donate for our Angel Tree program.
So I at least know that much. And I know that right now, today, they're not doing shite but blocking traffic. Really working hard to show us #BlackLivesMatter.

they should be ran over and no charges should be pressed on drivers that run them over.

Michael berry had his producer go down to one of these protests and ask a bunch of people if they could name one of the 1000+ Blacks murdered by black gangbangers this year. Couldn't get a single name.

So improving the community means volunteering at your school. Talk about hypocritical, you're posting on the Rant instead of improving your community!

I'm probably making more of a difference in the black community than those crying about it on a street corner today.

Actually, yeah it does. Why wouldn't volunteering and serving as a potential POSITIVE mentor for young black men be a bad thing?

Sorry, I do my service to their community 5 out of 7 days of the week instead.
But hey, maybe you can write us a story about what you do for the black community instead of welching on message board bets.

I never said volunteering at a school is a bad thing. Just because you haven't seen the people in the photos volunteering at YOUR school doesn't mean they don't do anything to help the community.

Well they're certainly not doing anything productive today while breaking the law. By all means, please enlighten us as to how this provides positive reinforcement for their cause against "whitey"?
