Not to crap on Nashville, have only visited twice, but the nightlife there was really weak. Like big time weak.

That said, it's a pretty town and has the cool country thing going on.

Listing to the OP, to me it seems like DALLAS is the answer. Also tons of LSU grads there to help you assimilate.

Go forth and see the world young man, then come back to Louisiana. I'm back here with lots of old friends that haven't lived here since college but moved home.

Nashville night life weak?

No way! That's one of the top places I've gone out.

Only place I've seen that beats Nashville for day drinking is NOLA.

It's not really fair to compare any SEC city like BR to a major metro area. There will always be a higher concentration of good looking poon in college towns. It's like comparing Athens and Atlanta when it comes to women.

You're a UGA fan and are more biased

And you're an LSU fan and are more biased towards BR.

And for the record I grew up in several southern states and have spent more of my life in those areas outside of Ga.

Whenever I visit Buckhead, there are flocks of good looking women every where I look. Like very good looking women.

How in the hell does Nashville not have a night life? It's half of what the town is known for.

You're right about the distance. I was down there a little over a month ago, and it was about a twenty minute drive to downtown as I recall (my memory might be a bit foggy). It definitely made going to the bars downtown and back a little bit of a pain in the arse.

No doubt. I grew up on the west side of Mobile proper and it would take me an hour to get to my HS in mid-town in the mornings. Mobile and New Orleans have a very connected history. The difference in the two cities is that New Orleans is very compact and Mobile is super spread out. Well one difference at least.

I've been to Dallas a couple times and really liked it.

If I could only pick 3 cities, I'd say Dallas, ATL, and Nashville are really good choices.

Birmingham doesn't "suck" although I do prefer living in the Mobile area where I am now. I've heard very good things about Charleston, SC. If I had to pick a spot in the South to live right out of college that would probably be it. Nashville would probably be next on the list. Atlanta would be another very good option if it wasn't so big and the traffic wasn't so horrible.

I live in Atlanta now, and I must say, there are whores galores. But be careful, because they are crazier than normal. And yes I know, they are all crazy.

But Atlanta has it all. Never lived in any of the other places on the list.

I'm mainly just curious about the scene for young professionals in Louisville. Along with bars, restaurants, activity in the downtown area. etc.

We definitely don't have places like Hole in the Wall.

I'd say nightlife is the one thing Nashville does better than Atlanta.
