I love Cape San Blas, in particular that spot where you can walk across the road to go from the gulf over to St. Joe’s Bay marina, the water is crystal clear in the bay in the summer

2. Gulf Shores WATER IS DIRTY

It’s hit n miss. I work in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores everyday. Some days it looks like Destin area water, and some days it looks like Mobile Bay. Just depends on how rough and how much fresh water is in it. You’ve got better chances of cleaner looking water the further east from Mobile Bay you get.

Everyone should go to Cumberland once but Amelia is a superior beach experience in every way.

I concur.

You can have the overpriced, overrated 30A. I’ll take gulf shores any day. Beaches are beautiful, the local food is MUCH better and the golf courses are second to none on the gulf.

I can’t disagree with you

The panhandle of Florida

(Basically owned by Louisiana folks)

Is the best combination of beach and water in the USA

And arguably in the top 5-10. In the world

Gulf Shores / Orange Beach water can be very good. Depends on current and wind

Good restaurants in OB.

Destin, Pensacola, Navarre, Fort Walton, are my favorite. Panama City is no good anymore.

Clearwater area is very good.

I've done Cumberland day trip on a St Mary's / Okenfenokee trip. It's an undeveloped island only accessible by ferry, it shouldn't be included as a beach destination, more of a nature/history excursion. But is awesome.

What's there to do on Amelia? Never been. Seems like a beach and golf courses. If you don't play golf, what's the draw to Amelia? Why not St. Simons?

We own a condo in laguna. I don't like the beach there. It's a fun place to visit, but gimme the emerald coast beach every time

I own a condo in Destin since the 90’s.
Homeless, illegals, trash, fireworks shot on beach and gulf endangering wildlife! Charter fishing is over priced, restaurants are tourist traps, and the outlet mall is a joke!
Trying to talk myself in to selling but kids n grands do not want me to.

Hate the place!

It’s crowded now but 30A/Rosemary Beach is fricking amazing.

Destin/Sandestin have gone downhill dramatically since 2010.

Seriously? In Destin? I haven't been since 2021 but noticed none of this. Previous trip was 2017. Noticed none of this.

Supply and demand. Fuel prices. Cost to hire and keep decent deck hands who will show up at 5am semi-sober and have actual skills. Price of marina fees. Price of mechanics to keep your engines running. All go up. You pay that in your charter fee. That's not just a Destin thing, that's an everywhere thing.

restaurants are tourist traps

It's a tourist town. Boschamps is legit.

Outlet mall? What in the frick.

They're picking out your retirement home right now, and trying to figure out the costs.
