How did you feel about Truman dropping nukes on innocent children?

R. McNamara stated that they all could have been labeled war criminals in the "Fog of war" with the fire bombings of Japan, but that he'd take that label if it meant saving GI lives. Wish he took that mindset in the other war he participated in.

That's neither here nor there.

Welcome to real life. Ever heard of Kosovo? Beirut?

This isn't some new phenomenon.

Japan was already about to surrender, Truman knew this and still used the bomb

Got it.

Murders are okay as long as other people in the past have murdered too, right?

Because if so then you are either a coward to confront the issue or you really are okay with killing children in the Middle East?

Don't think so, in fact I think every civilian was trained and highly motivated to fight to the death if the US stepped foot on the Jap mainland.

then you'd be wrong

Firebombing of Tokyo was already effective and killed way more people than the nuke(s)

Calling it murder shows your preconceived bias.

I think denying your bias is seen as bias.
After all it isn't murder if its war, right?

The USA is guilty of warcrimes in the Middle East regions and the best defense I've heard is "ends justify means" and "other people murder in past".

No the only thing keeping Japan from surrendering was they wanted to keep the Emperor

America had broken Japan's codes and knew this

Source: I just finished reading American Prometheus

ETA dropping the bomb was about showing power to Russia, not about defeating Japan

What specific war crimes is the US guilty of?

Civilian deaths are not war crimes.

"A study done for Secretary of War Henry Stimson's staff by William Shockley estimated that conquering Japan would cost 1.7–4 million American casualties, including 400,000–800,000 fatalities, and five to ten million Japanese fatalities. The key assumption was large-scale participation by civilians in the defense of Japan"

In addition, the Japanese had organized the Patriotic Citizens Fighting Corps, which included all healthy men aged 15 to 60 and women 17 to 40 for a total of 28 million people, for combat support and, later, combat jobs. Weapons, training, and uniforms were generally lacking: some men were armed with nothing better than muzzle-loading muskets, longbows, or bamboo spears; nevertheless, they were expected to make do with what they had.[26

Not in war. But to kill them in Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan, etc with a robot outside the scope of war is just plain murder.

Ok...and that has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Japan was already negotiating a surrender with Russia

ETA and ready to surrender to the US...I can look up something irrelevant on Wikipedia too, but instead I read books about history, specifically WWII

Irrelevent? I suggest you read more books on the subject opposed to forming an opinion based on one.
