Is there an elephant in your butt right now?
Can you PROVE to me that there isn't?!
HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS!
(Such solipsistic arguments are a waste of time.)

1995 called and they want their stupid argument back.
those guys were tyrants. and they were atheists. but they weren't tyrants because they were atheists. that's like saying they were tyrants because they had black hair. don't be a dope.
also, the only non-biblical text that ascribes that jesus was a real person is a single paragraph in a josephus text following the jewish wars. and it's been claimed that it is a fraud that was inserted by someone long after josephus. i don't know whether that's true or not, but just thought i'd throw that out there for genro.
and christmas is a pagan holiday. we're all going to hell! onoz!
edited to correct a minor typo.

All true, but it's difficult to suggest that Jesus wasn't a real person. I don't mean this in a "he was the messiah" kind of way but there probably was an enthusiastic Jewish preacher in the Middle East at that time, who claimed to be the son of god, who had loyal followers, and who was executed by the Romans for dissent or something. None of that is all that hard to fathom.

i respect your opinion, but i don't think it's difficult to suggest at all. there is only one non-christian text from the period that mentions a jesus character at all (the one by josephus), and it has been suggested to be a fraud. again, i have absolutely no idea whether or not this is correct, but the fact is that jesus may actually be a myth. just like satan (which you can read about in the origins of satanby elaine pagels).

The character of Jesus could be based on several real people.

because you fundamentally don't understand them?
Posted on 12/4/13 at 11:42 pm to DontCare
No because you can't change people's minds no matter how much you try and I believe that people have the fundamental right to believe whatever they want no matter how stupid or wrong I think they are.

so, it doesn't bother you if someone is wrong about something in a wholly demonstrable way?
