My friend and his fiancé are coming in tomorrow for the weekend. I'm almost certain my roommate (can't give his bed up for certain legit reasons) and them have discussed I wouldn't mind giving up my room for them.

Well, that's not the case. I'm not giving up my room and I'm going to tell them the air mattress is all theirs downstairs with the rest of our friends for the weekend. I already know my group of friends is going to consider me a dick for not letting them have my room.

Just wanted to get your opinions on the matter.

Frick em. You're giving them a place to stay for free. That is your room. If they want more privacy tell them where the nearest hotel is. Nothing wrong with doing what you are doing.

I say you're fine. If they wanted a bed then they should've gotten a hotel room instead. If your friends are that concerned about it then why aren't they giving up theirs?

IMO it's shitty to expect someone to give up their bed/room if they're offering you a place to stay on a game weekend no less.

I agree. And I know that it's assumed I'll give it up because they did the same thing two years ago when they rented out his house for a game weekend. They guilted me into it by saying she was sick.

They were nice enough to wash my sheets and pay for dinner one night they were there but that shite's a no go this time. I'm not sleeping on a couch or blowup mattress in my own house unless my parents are up.

You pay the rent for your room... Screw what anyone else thinks about it... Plus, they're probably both from the Delta... So he's fat, they hate Ole Miss and she frickin stinks.

Are they paying your rent? If not, then they'll just have to deal with the air mattress.

Bet they didn't wash your mattress though. You've definitely got your friends penis juices in your mattress.

I agree with every response in this thread.

You should probably also kill them for good measure.

We were going to have to have a talk if it wasn't.

And prayers sent to your house full of heathens this weekend.

I would personally let them use my bed, but I also don't think you're an a-hole. You have every right to do what you want with your room.

Just dealt with this situation on the opposite end this past weekend in Jacksonville. My wife and I went down for the GA-FL game and spent the weekend at a friend's house with a group of other people. We brought our own air mattress and sheets and towels and a whole case of beer in gratitude of the free place to stay (saved us roughly $200+ in hotel costs) for a couple of nights because that's how an adult behaves.

In other words, frick them for expecting anything more than a roof and air conditioning.

Granted, I've also been on your end of this situation in which a friend was having a tiff with her roommates one summer and she needed a place to crash for a few nights to avoid the "drama." My then-girlfriend (now wife) and I had a spare room in our sublease that summer and we didn't think twice about letting her use it for a few nights. Well, fast forward two months, our sublease is up, and we're facing late fees on move-out because she has proceeded to move a bunch of her and her boyfriends shite into that spare room and they've decided to drag arse returning from a trip to TN. She also neglected to even offer to pay utilities or rent for the time she spent showering and sleeping in our apartment and using our appliances to make dinner. Needless to say, that friendship was killed with a horrifying quickness.
