Able bodied people using handicapped door buttons

Why do people who are not disabled hit the handicapped button to open doors?
Is it just laziness? I mean its not that hard to open a door, and it takes longer to hit the button and wait on the mechanism to operate than it does to just open the thing.
I did that crap when i was a little kid, and my mom told me I wasnt handicapped so i needed to open the door like everyone else.
Well seems everyone else quit doing it. Did I miss something, what happened?

Bro, millions of people now have a speaker in their house that can turn their lights on for them when they ask.
Yes it's laziness.

They didn’t have those buttons when I was a little kid. How old are you? 20?
And people probably push the button because it says on the door to do so a lot of the time and people are sheep.

I do it all the time at any hospital. I don't want to grab 2 door handles, I'd rather bump the button with the back of my hand.

Forgive me, I was born after the dinosaurs roamed the earth and man had discovered fire and the wheel.
And no, not 20. Sometimes i wish i was still though

I’m not important, but it makes me feel important. It also keeps me from sharing in the germs of all who have touched it since it was last disinfected.

I use the handicap button because I know all you dirty fricks only wash your hands if there is a pandemic scare.

I enjoy pressing buttons, doesn't matter what they do.

I'm always hoping it will open a secret door, I don't want to waste the door opening so I go ahead and walk through.

I wasnt referencing any comic, though I've always been partial to Garfield and Bloom County/Opus

Unclear right now, we're waiting for the Wolfman midwife to confirm.

I don't know, but I love them when I'm pushing the kids around in a stroller.
