Aren't most of those finds natural gas? My grandfather has property in that region that has potential.

In the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale? Or in the Eagleford? The oil windows are the focus in both at the moment. They both have natural gas, but natural gas it too cheap at the moment to even try and drill them.

That would be the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale. Goodrich Petroleum has a well from Wilkinson County, Mississippi peak production was 527 BOE(bbl of oil equivalent) Comprising 500 bbl of oil and 174 Mcf of gas.

Forbes... I trust them more than the friend of an unnamed multi-billionaire from a lolpoor state. The cotton trade stopped being lucrative a century ago but someone forgot to tell Ole Miss.

According to Forbes, Lampton was worth $1B in 2011. Since he was on the million/billion bubble at that point, it very conceivably could've changed since then.

Not a billionaire any more. If he was a billionaire he'd be on the Forbes list. When he was a billionaire, he was on it. Now that he's not a billionaire anymore, he's fallen off the list.
