While I do agree that that was a stretch, and I don't think that Phil is racist, I doubt many black people in that time would've explain their troubles to many white people.

My in-laws had his book when we were there at Thanksgiving and I read it in afternoon.
He may be a homophobe (not that there's anything wrong with that) but he's not racist.

Can't wait for the game.
I grew up in OKC and have always cheered for OU, plus I have family who went to OU. They were talking trash after the IB, but have been strangly quiet once they found out that they were playing us. 
Hopefully I can drown my sorrows about us not going to Pasadena on Bourbon Street.

Back when I lived in Georgia one of the participants at the local weekly Magic tournaments, Yugioh tournaments, and fighting game tournaments at the comic store was a black-Jew.
Edit: And to put something on topic frick A&E for this. I have not seen the show so I do not know how rednecky he is but regardless they should have known what they were getting into when they started the show.
Besides that is is his right to say whatever he damn well pleases without repercussions as long as he is not threatening anyone and he did not do that.
