So are the stabbings a gun issue, or a mental health issue?

BTW, I do have multiple guns. A 22, 9mm pistol, and 12 gauge. I would have absolutely no problem with going through a background check and mental health evaluation if it meant a safer society. Lowering the clip size would not destroy my guns.

I think many of you are taking this as a complete removal of guns...it's not.

Almost every murder is a mental health issue. Insanity due to long term mental illness or temporary emotional stress.

I never brought up mental health. The guns were regulated and stabbings went up. Bottom line is if someone wants to hurt you they don't need a gun, but if you have a legal gun and they have a knife you are much better off.

Yes, I don't believe anyone would argue that.

"if someone wants to hurt you they don't need a gun"- So what is all the backlash over a few extra hoops to jump through to get a gun?

I wouldn't know as I am not allowed to own one even though I never committed an aggravated felony or used a gun in any crime.

Have you purchased a firearm? It's not nearly as easy as anti gun people think unless you're doing it illegally.

Prohibition type laws have never worked. All it does is feed a black market.

Short answer: frick no. I Don't give a shite what another country does, in this country we can own guns and hopefully that's always the case.

I guess I forget that states have different laws. In Missouri it is very easy to get a gun. Basically just need to be 18 to buy.

I have never owned a registered gun. Always bought from individuals.

No. Australia outright confiscated their guns. We are guaranteed the right to own them here by the constitution so an outright ban can't happen without repealing the 2nd which is impossible with gun popularity skyrocketing.

Any other regulation just enables criminals and takes the power to defend themselves away from law abiding citizens

This is wrong...

Those who are convicted of dangerous felonies; fugitives from justice; habitually intoxicated; mentally incompetent; under 21; dishonorably discharged from the military; Missouri residents for less than six months; or not U.S. citizens may not own firearms in the state. - See more at:

You can still smoke inside, just go to this special section over here.

You can't smoke inside, but you can just outside the door.

You can't smoke outside the door, but you can just a few yards away.

You get the point.

That is incorrect.

Don't be a criminal previously or be dishonorably discharged. There are various by-laws to the 21 years of age statement.

I don't feel like these are very hard to pass.

Multiple bucks would beg to differ. Using the word "clip" in reference to various handguns is correct. if I were referring to a shotgun, I would have used shells. Sorry for the confusion.

Was recently gifted with a Benelli Ethos. Considering I already have hearing issues I prefer bow and arrow when deer hunting. I have used the same Hoyt Vectrix since I got it back in the day. I don't duck hunt, but do head up to the Dakotas to pheasant hunting on an annual trip with some friends from back home.

But, you know, I don't have guns.

Most gun shy progressives who come here to toss out anti gun arguments quickly google information on various firearms.

Unless you're looking at a major ban of most firearms, further regulations will do nothing but make it more difficult for law abiding gun owners, as those of us who have gone through the process of gun purchases know well. It will do nothing about the law breaker intent on committing a gun crime.
