Psychologically. All of your tension tends to build up in the Winter months. If you're insane, you're probably going to go off the deep end in the Winter and then feel inspired to act once it gets warm. Just a thought.

[Update,3:57 p.m. ET] On their Twitter page, Boston marathon officials made this announcement: "There were two bombs that exploded near the finish line in today's Boston Marathon. We are working with law enforcement to understand what exactly has happened."

I feel this is too organized for it to be a single home grown terrorist. Outside chance it could be a group of home grown, but I'm doubtful of that.

This is where our liberties and resolve to be a peaceful place of freedom will be tested. The date and site falls in perfect with the homegrown terrorists that Timothy McVeigh was a part of.
A couple years back I wrote an article that got some acclaim. They really have a hang up on the April 19/20th time frame. It's called Patriots Day and signifies and honors when Paul Revere's ride happened. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that those guys are responsible over Al-Qaeda connected groups. They're probably really pissed over the new gun bill and the crackdown on gun shows which is their main sources of income and recruiting.
The BFE area in Oklahoma where McVeigh and others collaborated and planned is actually about 20 miles from where I grew up, my dad and his buddies trail ride horses out there because it's so secluded, was a prime hideout area for outlaws back in the Indian territory days for Oklahoma.

I don't consider Timothy McVeigh to be a terrorist ORGANIZATION. He was a terrorist, but not an organization. I really just meant al-Queda when I said organizations
