All AR tornadoes seem to follow I-40 or I-30.

Can't believe Jackson, TN isn't on the list.. Seems like lots of twisters miss Memphis and then Jackson gets throttled.

I've lived in either Huntsville, Tuscaloosa, or Jackson my whole life and have never seen a tornado. Knock on wood

I find it odd that Memphis usually manages to miss the brunt of these storms when they pass through.
The river and the bluffs apparently keep us pretty safe

Being in Tuscaloosa on April 27th, 2011 was such a strange and frightening experience.

If I turned on the news and there's tornadoes, those mf'ers in Oak Grove are getting one. I've never seen anything like it in my life. There's got to be something geographic that makes them susceptible.

So Alabama is the new tornado alley?
South Louisiana, central Mississippi, and north Alabama's always been as much of a tornado alley as the midwest. Weather Underground has a good graphic charting F3 or stronger tornadoes since 1950. Notice how the historical pattern in the south matches the same SW to NE line that individual storms usually follow.
