I like the sites that put up a crime map. I find it interesting seeing the areas where crime clusters

You can watch the First 48 and see that almost every murder case on there came from the West End of Louisville when we're featured.
Sans maybe Detroit, you can manage to not get shanked in most large cities if you're not a dumbass when you're in certain high-crime areas.

It's fun to hang out in high crime areas though. I'm not dead yet and I do it on the reg.

Birmingham is actually the worst.
Birmingham Murders: 104
Atlanta Murders: 110
Birmingham Rapes: 220
Atlanta Rapes: 171
Keep in mind Birmingham's population is 233,577 and Atlanta's is 485,804

I agree I've spent most of my life in high crime areas and I'm alive.

at least they keep their rapes and murders to under one a day

Atlanta isn't even where you hear of most of the murder happening in the metro. Parts of DeKalb County seem so much worse when it comes to homicides.
That 110 is a bit off for Atlanta as well. I don't think Atlanta has had 110 murders since '06 or '07.

Are you sure it's not the part of Atlanta that's in DeKalb? And I feel the least safe in Clayton Co.

Yeah, it's 2006 data. I don't care enough to actually compare data myself

Clayton County. The biggest collection of white trash and ghetto in the state.
They were trying to lure the Braves down there with the promise of free land.

Twas a nice country county till the Olympics came and they agreed to take most of Atlanta's trash in exchange for large tax breaks. County went from 90-10 to 10-90 in five years.

This study is measuring violent crime, not murders. They're measured separately in all studies like this.
New Orleans does not have an exceptionally high violent crime rate.

So NOLA is especially efficient for when they do commit violent crimes
