maybe but it might seem very logical if you were to hear his talent tapes.

Streif is whip-smart and knowledgeable and insightful about the game, but professional-level PBP is such an art, and so niche to begin with.

May be a rocky to start the season; I'll be giving him plenty of leeway.

Wasn’t he president of the player’s league?

It will definitely feel off not hearing Jim Henderson's voice on the radio for fall Sundays anymore.

They accepted the fact that he’s raw, and we’ll have to as well. If he grows into a good one, it’ll be pretty cool having a longtime player in the booth. I wish him well. I hope I don’t have to hear any rookie mistakes.....because that means I’m not in the stands or in front of a TV.

Good for him, but this is a lazy, cheap move for WWL, so I guess I should not be surprised, considering the lack of talent elsewhere on the station.

I'd like to hear a sample of him calling a game. Just to get an idea of what he's like. Because play by play is so much different than color commentary like Deuce is doing. And the fact that he's never done it before just makes me more curious.

I do know multiple people who were told no for this position because it was due to a lack of play by play experience. So take that for what it's worth.

I'm willing to bet those folks didn't play 11 years in the NFL. Even if he takes some time getting used to the nuances of PBP, he's already got the vast knowledge base built in. So even if he struggles a bit, he can make up for it with his experience bank.

Someone who's just coming off the street who doesn't have a ton of PBP experience without anything else to make up for it I understand turning down.

So..... What did he say?

The opportunities to plug his brewery would be endless:
That's a Port Orleans first down.
Theyre now in the Storyville IPA redzone

Those people weren't even given a phone call.
