Oh hellz yeah. October 25th, day before the South Carolina home game. Just announced, an exhibition game at Hearnes in the old jerseys with a reunion to honor the 1994 team that went 14-0 in the Big Eight. Brilliant move by Haith and our AD, a blatant attempt to get Devin Booker I'm sure but who cares I have wanted this for awhile. Plus the Padgett ku game was now officially NOT the last ever Mizzou game at Hearnes, LOL! It's our building we can do what we want with it bitches! Woot!

Goes without saying, homecoming weekend if anyone didn't put it together. They need to retire his number at halftime. Or is that too much?

this is awesome, I kinda wish we played a regular season game there though.

I hope we wear the jerseys in a couple more games, it would be pretty cool.

Tough call since he was clearly the top player, conference player of the year and an All-American that year so he deserves it. But its a reunion for the whole 1993-94 team since its the 20th anniversary of that team (say it with me now, I feel old) so might be kinda akward for Jevon Crudup, Lamont Frazier et al to have to stand around while Melvin gets this huge individual honor and they don't. On the one hand it could be a nice extra touch to do all that in the same ceremony, but I can also see the argument for just setting aside one special day for just Melvin alone to retire his jersey and leave this 20th anniversary day to be a reunion and celebration of the team as a whole.

Mizzou football: Apprehension is what I feel. I'm excited about the games getting started and it feels like it's taken forever to get here, but kind of holding my breath to see how the team, and particularly Franklin, looks in a live game.

Mizzou basketball: Excitement. I so wish the football could create the same level of excitement. But whether it's the recruiting, the idea of throw-back game, being in on 2 nationally recruited SG's or even the upcoming season, there's just excitement and little apprehension. What a brilliant idea from the AD and basketball program to generate that excitement.

Haith is a dang good coach. He has been dealt nothing but bad hands since he got here and is turning it into some great, almost elite, recruiting and making NCAA tournaments. Hopefully this year we get back to competing for a conference title.

I think he's done a pretty damn good job considering what he's dealt with. MA left him zero coming in as for recruits. Lopsided classes. Miami issues. I do think he can be better with the x's and o's, particularly to handle pressure full court and then defensively, but hopefully Phelps or some of the others can have a bigger influence on that this year.

Haith has grown on me too, the selfishness of Phil Pressy at times last year certainly didn't help the image of Haith as being a good coach. We'll see how he does now that all of the players currently in the program now were recruited by him and might be better fitted to run his pick and roll system

I think losing Nestor as the basketball strategist/Xs and Os guy didn't help at all. I still remember that awesome inbounds pass strategy we used against a high pressure team (I don't remember which) where the player inbounding the ball passed to another player out of bounds who then inbounded the ball. It was awesome, and it seemed very Nestorish.

Beats last years inbound play where everyone stands still, no movement, throw the ball up high and over the shoulder and hope it has the right touch where we can get to it first. If I remember, it cost us one game when Bowers(not blaming him) threw it over I think Bell's head but we couldn't run it down.

Our HS bball unis were modeled after these. We even had the cat paw on the shorts.

Needless to say...

I hadn't seen it since your 4th grade team did it.
