Would you take 3 years of Matt Rhule knowing he'd leave your program in the dust for the NFL?

Try not to answer back by well Odom sucked, so yeah I'd take Rhule. Pretend Odom was never in the picture.

I wouldn't if I knew he was leaving in 3 years.

IDK.

He only had 1 good season at Baylor, which obviously is an easier conference. He also had a good run with Temple, but I dont like to compare those to P5 success.

So to me, its would I want one good year of Rhule in exchange for a new coaching search? No.

I would.

I like the drinkwitz hire but wouldn't we have been in a much better position to land a big fish if we are coming off an 11 win season?

We'd definitely go up a level in candidates. Mike Norvell would have been in play IMO.

It'll be interesting who Baylor gets now.

Like what big fish? I really dont think theres very many options that are better that we're capable of pulling off. Not saying there are zero options, just not many.

There really is no guarantee that Rhule would have had the same success here either. It’s really an impossible question to answer because I don’t know what he would have done here in those 3 years

I do believe he would have had us in a position to win the East for two of the three years.

Baylor vs Mizzou - which situation was worse in 2016? It was pretty close.

Yes because even though we like to blame the "protest" for part of our problems, Baylor had a real shitshow to recover from, an Rhule did it. Plus if we don't get sandbagged we would have had Rhule for 4 years not 3.

As far as a better coach hire this year, no change on that. No way Norvell chooses us over FSU. Maybe we become a blip on Kiffins radar. But Drink is a solid hire.

Yes, Rhule did what he did with Baylor considering Baylor has lesser talent.

Starting in 2016 Barry's first year, Barry made a bad decision to kick Mauk off the team based on a 2-year-old prank video, I don't think Rhule would have done that, with Mauk, we would beat West Virginia, Georgia, based on Barry's horrible field decisions, we would have beat Middle Tennessee. Finished 7-5 and went bowling.

2017 Rhule would have won the Purdue game, Purdue has little talent, but Barry was badly outcoached, 8 Win season.

2018 Rhule would have coached us to a 10 win season.

2019 Rhule would have taken the Wyoming game and the Vanderbilt game. 8 win season.

You are missing the point, it's not a trade, what part of "pretend Odom was never in the picture" do you not get. It's more about the perception of a coach using Mizzou as a stepping stone.

Would you rather have 3 frustrating years and have to fire your coach, or 3 years of solid improvement and your coach leaves for the NFL. Pretty obvious.

Yes. If he left that means you are winning and it is easier to get a new HC
