Romar is number 1 for me. I am out on Top assistant coaches as well. Any others within reason?

Is he your #1 simply because of Porter(s)?

I have no interest in C. Martin...while I sort of see the appeal, I just don't think that respectability is a high enough bar for Mizzou and I see that mostly being his ceiling right now. I think he'd get Mizzou into the tournament as a 7-11 seed more often than not, and I don't see Mizzou contending for a conference title under him. That being said, if he's hired I hope I'm wrong, and maybe he'd recruit locally enough to get Mizzou to the next level, but at this point he is what he is in my book.

I don't have any interest in a top assistant, but I'd prefer that over C. Martin, because at least with that there's a chance you hit a homerun.

I dont want Romar bc he can can not coach. He can recruit but that is it. He has a Top 3 NBA draft pick and they won 3 more games then KA

Read that title way too fast. Thought you were saying he is your #1

Martin might have a higher ceiling that 7-12 seed or bubble. He's only been at Cal 3 years after 3 years at Tennessee. Both places involved some degree of a rebuild. Years 4-6 with his system firmly in place might be a higher potential. The potential is why Martin is considered, similar to any of the mad major coaches.
Martin is interesting in that while he was at MSU his teams had good offenses and below average defenses. But since Martin has been in power conference jobs it's been the opposite, good defense and below average offense.

If we are going on potential.. Then I would go Keatts over Martin.... That's just me though.... I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Keatts land at NC state.

Just HELL no to Romar.

I would probably go Keatts as well, but he is only 1 year younger than Martin. I don't think Martin is done growing as a coach.

CMart

Anyone who feels like a reach hire.

Keatts is about as low as I want to go on the reputation scale.

That gives me flashbacks of Haith winning with other coaches' players.

CMart.

It would absolutely suck for St. Louis recruiting if he were to wind up at Illinois though

I don't really see the Haith comparison. Haith had an extended run at Miami showing his ceiling. Bruce Webber is probably a better example. He has started off really good at both Illinois and Kansas State with other coaches players.
Although he best players Martin has had in his NCAA teams at Tennessee and California were guys he recruited.

That said I don't love his style. If I were choosing between Pitino, Enfield, Keatts, Musselman, Crean, & Martin I would take all before Martin in large part because of the styles they coach. I think the ceiling is higher for those types of teams.

No Romar, No Ford, No Martin.

None of them should be on MU radar

I don't want Martin. Not resilient enough for the Mizzou job.

Left Tennessee because the fans were being mean, whining publically(directly or indirectly idk) about Cal after being there less than a year,

Don't want Romar. I could live with C. Martin, but would prefer someone else.
