Positives
- We didn't get shut out.
- Our punter is a plus weapon
Negatives
- Our WRs (as was the case all of last year) get ZERO seperation.
- The overall quality and depth of our DLine appears to have significantly declined.
- The players in the new scheme failed to hold the edge vs the run all night. They only fared slighly better inside.
Theory
- Is the obvious drop off in talent from 2013 until today in direct relation to the decline of the Texas recruiting pipeline? Or is it more of a reflection of the increased level in competition moving from the XII to the SEC?
I've personally wondered if there would be a talent bubble around this time (4 or 5 years post-move) when the shift in area of recruting emphasis from Texas to the Southeast would be manifest on the field.
Have at it y'all...

I wasn't surprised or alarmed by our WRs not getting separation from LSU's DBs. Expect to see the same in the Florida game.
The Dline edge was non existent. The defense overall was pretty disappointing. Pretty disheartening game all around.

Positives
-LOL. Come on...
Negatives
- Don't feel like typing them all out.
Theory
- Changing the defensive scheme was an incredibly stupid move and it has completely destroyed our defense.

There's lots of teams that use the read and react successfully.
The 2013 defense could have run it. 2013 had 4 OL that are now in the NFL also had 4 DL that are now in the NFL. Other than Harris and Beckner I'm not sure any of the OL or DL will be drafted. Maybe Augusta?
Losing Brady was a big blow to the DL. Last year after a great first half of the season teams game planned around Harris. That's when Brady started having really good games.

their secondary was better than our receivers.
their receivers where better than our secondary.
we lost the battle of both lines. Not by a lot, but by enough.
their third string running back is far better than any rb we've had in years. That's a BIG problem we seem to consistently have
positives: we learned that if we want to compete with biggest of the boys we have to recruit better.
and our punter is a stud

A positive I suppose is that our OL didn't get embarrassed as badly by their DL as our DL did by their OL. So our OL has, IMO, made tremendous strides from last year.

The OL's protection has been a small bright spot. I suppose it's too much to hope for both protection and run blocking from a new coach.

But in all honesty, don't you notice the "run blocking" is better with Crockett being the "runner?" Hmmmmm
WHO THE HELL RUNS WITTER ON 4TH AND 2?????

I'm so sick of Ish Witter.
I'm disgusted that no RB has stepped up in practice to make it clear that Witter needs to be a situational back.
And Barry, in case you're reading this, the situation in which he is not to be used is 4th and short.
