Do you like Campbell, Rhule or Dykes? Everyone would be screaming to fire them too.

Coordinators have been hired with success many times. Just didn't work out it appears.

So what I have seen is:

1. It's GP's fault because he left us in a lurch.
2. It's the players fault because they are pussies.

Ain't none of this BO's fault!!! Amirite?

BO has his share in this.
The last few years of GP and BO have had retention issues. DE is a good example. It’s a really good unit with Frazier, Loud, Howard and Brady. Instead it’s Frazier and Harold.

So who would you realistically have hired? And there was no way Herman was going to even answer the phone. Cambell and Rhule have both stunk since getting better jobs.

Other things that remind me of KA:

109th - Completion %
129th - Time of possession
129th - Turnover Margin

Yeah, I quit looking after that.

Still think it’s more similar to Muschamp’s time at Florida.

Oh please, not one person on here said "I hope we hire Barry Odom". Everyone wanted a big name, hot hire with coaching experience. When we "settled" for Barry, because that's what we did, people thought we would be getting a continuation of the Pinkel regime. Instead Barry had to dismantle the defense and the soul of the team in favor of some bullshite scheme/system that the players hated and got some of the worst results in the FBS.

No one would have liked the Barry Odom hire if he came out and said, I'm here to rebuild Mizzou, people would have been asking how a top 10 defense returning 8 starters would be rebuilding, because it shouldn't have been. If Barry was worth his weight, the 2016 defense should have been at least top 25. But no, he destroyed it down to its roots, now we have this shite show.

Well, Baylor is still a special kind of toxic after all it's rape allegations and cover ups. I think karma is hitting them big time.

Sure, everyone wanted a big name. Problem is, it's just not realistic. The realistic options at the time were Campbell, Babers, Rhule, Calhoun, Taggert, etc. Herman or any other big name coaches just wasn't happening. I admit at the time I liked the Odom hire because I thought he would continue what Pinkel built. Looks like I was wrong. So what other realistic option would you have hired?

Taggart and other proven HCs weren’t interested due to the protests.
Mizzou had Dykes, Wells, Calhoun and BO interested.

Mizzou was a toxic dump at the time of the hire. We were not going to get any hyped coordinator who had any belief they were headed to better things. We were going to attract coaches on the way down and HCs that success at the lowest level. It's true Mack Rhodes had one foot out the door, but see my first sentence and rule number one is to run from toxic dumps, don't play in them. BO was the only coach in play who made any sense. Wanted by Memphis, a continuation of GP's progress, either a diamond in the rough or a temporary coach to get us away from the dumpster fire, (and cheap too). He turned out to be worst case scenario, and now were 2 years removed from CS1950 and a new coach will have a chance to mold this team.
Agree with all of your last sentence, but an exhaustive search by Rhodes would have yielded the same results or marginally better except that guy would have had an expensive buyout.

They still aren't at all similar, even if BO continues to fail.
