Alden runs a very professional organization, and I would expect Yost to be treated with as much dignity and sensitivity as possible.
Isn't that the same guy that sent Link to fire Quinn? I would not say that was professional.

Quin was probably high (allegedly). I'm not sure anything that happened during Quin's tenure can be that reflective of anyone. Including the Quin of today.

I disagree. If you do not have the balls to fire a coach personally then you should not be the AD at a big D1 program. You man up and call him into your office and do the deal.

John Beckham says they're disappointed but there is no chance of DGB transferring. Also says it may take 3 coaches to replace everything that Yost does.
This is a tribute to Yost, regardless of why he's leaving.

So far Groh is at the top of my list. Chaney is up there, however I agree with mograyback that Chaney does indeed look like a toolbag. Then again Albert Einstein never looked his part either.

I dont care how he looks. I am trying to win ballgames. He could have shite caked to his face, but if we have the #2 offense in the SEC I am cool with it.
The only problem is that he makes $535,000 as an OC. I have heard Pinkel has up to 700K to drop, but is he willing to? We really need Chaney.

My only questions about Chaney are in his recruiting. He's been Tennessee's OC for 4 seasons, under Kiffin then Dooley. They've had fantastic recruiting classes. But is that Chaney? Or Dooley? Our OC has to be a fantastic recruiter too, which is why I like Groh.
I will say this - if we're not willing to spend the money to get the best candidate we can, whether that's Chaney, Groh, Franklin, Hill or whoever - we may as well focus on basketball and emulate Kentucky. But I don't think that's what we came to the SEC to do.

Who knows what happened, really. Alden could have said "Come to my office," and Quin started ducking him. That happens for 3 or 4 days, maybe I tell the janitor to clear out his office and he finds out that way. I highly doubt Alden lacked the stones to look Quin in the eye whilst he gave him the axe.

I don't think we'll let a few hundred grand stand in the way. It's a lot to individuals, but not much in the grand scheme of things.

We'd never live that down on the rant.

He probably makes $0 as an OC in the not too distant future and has a severance package. Granted, he's not prolly coming to Mizzou for $250k, but we don't realistically have to match that salary penny for penny.

Forget the moobs.
Chest shot unrevealing. What's his package look like?
(Can't believe I am about to hit "submit.")

Agreed. I don't think the next OC hire will have money as the determining factor. I think the obstacle will be HCGP's pride. Groh is interesting and Saban may very well either recommend him to us or dissuade HCGP from him due to their history and friendship. This hire will tell us if our head is h is willing to put pride to the side to succeed.

He's responsible for recruits almost exclusively in TN. I'm not sure that translates or doesn't translate to somewhere else.

The problem I see with Groh is that means we are going to a Pro-style offense. And while I have no problem with that, its a multi-year project. Pinkel doesnt have multi-years. We need to go to a similar offense that is successful in this league. That is with Chaney. Pinkel cant be trying to change offensive philosophies during his hotseat year.
