Apparently he's strongly considering transferring to Mizzou.

2yrs to play.

If we take him, say goodbye to the kids we recruited besides Bazelak.

I could see Powell and Lowery staying. Otherwise if Bryant gets hurt a true freshman is the backup.

Sets up perfectly for him to start in 2020.

Why would Powell or Wilson stay? There are too many opportunities to play elsewhere. Even if Bryant gets hurt, don't we also have the kid from LSU?

He might be good but we shouldn’t be afraid to have QB battles. Its a good thing. If our backups don’t want to fight for the spot, they won’t win elsewhere.

Bama has tua’s little brother and bear bryant’s grandson coming and they know they have to battle.

It's not that they are taking transfers, their taking transfers that are athletic dual threat. If that's what Dooley wants, then great, but other QB's that don't fit that style of play have a lot of opportunities out there.

There are exceptions to the rule if you are really really good - like Will Grier, Baker Mayfield, and of course Kelly Bryant. When you are essentially a second string qb, you should stay put because you never know when you will get your chance. To this day, I, and many others, believe that Tyler Gabbert did the wrong thing by transferring because would have played plenty of games if he stayed. Instead he went to UCF and rode the bench behind Bortles.

Guys like Powell and Wilson would end of going to a third tier program like, I don't know, Florida Atlantic or UT-El Paso and STILL ride the bench. Forget a Power 5 school, too many qbs already there that know the system.

Preach.

I love this argument. Hey let’s not get a good player since we already have maybe a good player

I can tell ya that I'm sitting here watching the Mizzou game with a Mizzou student who is absolutely stoked. Like he said, let them battle it out and let the losers transfer. That's fine.

This is a very naïve question, but is it possible for Mizzou to placate any QB's who would transfer by removing all transfer waiting times that are normally imposed? Basically saying, "If you play and practice for us this year, instead of announcing to transfer, we will waive any transfer time you'd normally have?
If possible, the transferring player comes out ahead by still getting practice and facilites access while shopping for a whole year for somewhere to land immediately.
