Might as well see what Fulford can do as a HC

There's no reason to fire him tonight and it gains us nothing.

Sterk was brought in specifically to hire a basketball coach. We knew this was coming.

It's not going to get better overnight even if we bring in a hotshot mid major coach at the end of the year. Just relax and let it run its course.

Holy dogshit. I read the posts on my phone and only saw the half time score. I figured we were winning and figured that we would end up winning but just winning ugly against a glorified high school team. Un-frickin-believable.

KA has to go. KA doesn't have to go tonight. Sterk has accomplished more here in his short time than Rhoades did in his entire year. I trust Sterk will do the right thing come season's end. If not...then I'll be on the Sterk needs to go wagon. An interim does no good now.

If things go as I suspect they will after tonight, let KA go midway through conference play. You can say you gave him every opportunity then to any candidates coming in to interview but still get a jump start on finding someone new instead of coming in after the best options have been cherry picked by other schools after the season.

Sterk's job has to be about getting donors on board. A legit coach will cost at least 3 times what KA is making. If he wants someone like GM it may take close to 5million a year.

The advantage this year is you don't have to worry about it being more than Odom. When KA was fired, I think one of the constraints was if you paid big bucks to a hoops coach, you had to pay GP more. I don't think that's quite as much of a restriction now if it's the right guy.

Gregg Marshall is not taking the job. Kim has gotten us dug so deep it is going to take us years to recover from this disaster. Why would Marshall leave Wichita State where they sell out and actually can win and recruit to. He won't want to take this train wreck.

We don't need donors to up anything to pay our basketball coach $3M. Nada.

Yeah. We're now going to have to roll the dice with a mid-major coach and hope we find a Pinkel of the hardwood.

There's a couple really young mid major coaches that interest me.
McCall at Chattanooga
McCasland at Arkansas State
Neither may have enough years as HCs, but I think both will be really good

Some experienced MM HCs
Dambrot from Akron
Sampson at Houston

Who else would have taken the job knowing the program was under investigation with an assortment of foundational problems left behind by Haith? Nobody was going to give a more genuine effort than the guy they got.

Phase one was demolition, phase two was removing the rubble -- that's finally complete. Now the hope is Kim can lay a clean foundation for somebody else to build on. That was the realistic goal from the beginning.

Mix in some rational with all that irrational anger. My guess is they'll have a slightly better year than last. It is what it is.

And make no mistake...the BLM and Yolanda mess with discourage many coaches.

If Mizzou is to make a homerun hire, Mizzou will need to offer a VERY competitive salary. Mizzou has never truly opened the checkbook for a new coach.

I have my doubts we'll make a splash hire. I'll just be happy when KA is gone, hold my breath and wish for the best. Can't get much worse, can it?

Fair enough. I'm losing my cool because we got blown out at home to North Carolina Central, a team that ranked No. 228 in KenPom before today. This has to be one of the most embarrassing losses I've ever seen as a Mizzou basketball fan.

I'm shocked we aren't getting trolled on the SEC rant main board about this. I guess that's how irrelevant we've become. It's just sad.

Why is Mizzou still in phase one 3 years later?

Yeah, he's not very high on my list either. But it also might be all we can get. Though the Houston job is a better job.

It's not. This is year one with no traces of the Haith regime -- the rubble has been removed.

I'm not defending KA. I'm just trying to add some unemotional input. I really don't have much invested in basketball other than it's associated with Mizzou.

Pulling back the scope, complaining this much about KA is similar to complaining about the current president over the national debt. More than one regime is to blame for this. The most we can ask from Kim is to get us at zero-point, which should allow Jim to make a half decent hire. Despite the struggles I think we're moving more in that direction than further in the hole.

Gabe DeArmond ? @GabeDeArmond
NCC coach LeVelle Moton said his team almost beat Ohio State and said whoever inelvented the word almost was probably a loser.
