Knowing Henson, they are probably lost right now in northern Arkansas or southern Missouri, listening to dualing banjos.

Have you ever seen Winter's Bone? I'm hoping they'd run into some of those folks...

I'd watch Mizzou v Nebraska

But this team and staff don't deserve a bowl game.

I really don't want to watch this team until they have a new HC and a new season at hand.

We will have a new coach by then and even though tradition says Hill coaches the bowl game, the new coach works with the team during practices. That's 2 weeks to work with Lock and the receivers. That gives the new staff a great way to gauge what they have.

Get over the piss poor 2015 season. The bowl practices is prep work for 2016 and final recruiting targets. Why wouldn't you want the new staff to have every possible advantage? and 2 extra weeks of practice is a big advantage to a new staff.

Are you people crazy??? A new HC and a bowl gives them 2 weeks of practice. That's the same as Spring practice. Screw the actual game, the bowl bid is about the practice time.

No offense, but they would practicing an offense that is going to be replaced. If they haven't improved in 8 or 10 weeks, I don't think another two it going to help.

The only thing that could happen is another quality defender gets hurt like Beckner did.

That said, if they get invited they're going. It's the only logical reason Hill was named interim HC.

Ain't a matter of getting over it or not. Just don't care about this team enough. I do think it's an embarrassment to go to accept being rewarded for being losers. And yes, 5-7 is losing.

If they name a coach and can get the practices great. I get the logic for taking advantage of it. But personally, I won't give any more shits about a bowl game they shouldn't be rewarded with and will get embarrassed in than I do for how the swimming and diving team does.

What usually happens is the new coach runs the practices but allows the interim to coach the actual game. It's not so much that a new offense is put in during the practices, but it allows the new staff to see what they have and based on that change last minute recruiting targets. Otherwise they can only depend on tape. with bowl practices you get hands on plus the tape.

Ok. Thanks for explaining your reasoning.

Then logically the new HC will be getting announced within the next 7-10 days or so, correct?

Turns out Campbell is still interviewing this weekend, much to the chagrin of a lot of fans, and I guess Rhule is interviewing also.

I still find it hard to believe this is true. There is a butt load of teams that are 6-6 or better. The Pac has 10 teams, the Big XII has 6 (may have 7 with a KSU win next week), the American has 8, ACC 9, the Big Ten 8,Conference USA 5, Mid American 7, Mountain West 7, SEC 10, Sun Belt 3 (and 2 more can get to six wins next week), and 2 independents.

That is at least 75 teams. How many bowl games are there? And Kentucky beat us head to head so they should get a bid over us. Indiana became bowl eligible today as well.

There are 80 bowl spots....78 is the max that can reached by next week....could be as low as 75 that don't get 6 wins
