There are ways to stop it. Vs GT in 2012, the triple option put up 350+ rushing on UGA, but only ended up with 9 points. Bend but don't break.
Everyone in the SEC will now start preparing better for Malzahn's magic pony offense.

I don't agree. He was great all year.
He simply ran into a buzzsaw tonite. The week before they carved up the great Bama. Gus is for real. Maybe the Mike Martz if college running game.

I don't feel like looking up the stats but D has made many QB's look great, Manziel and Murray were harassed by our DL, that was simply players making plays not a scheme. I will give Steck credit for putting athletic DE's in at DT on passing days like with Smith and Ealy. I do though think that this team is held back by a subpar DC and have said so for years, still have nightmares of Texas carving up our 10 deeo CB's in 2008.

Honestly, it was more like our tackles were missing at the line.
The fault was with the DTs. Our ends are good, the tackles are average. That was my concern about this game going in. We could stop the edge rush, but I'd we did they'd gash us up the middle. And that's exactly what happened.

Stopping isn't the right word, but you were definitely more successful at it. They throw chop blocks at the knees of the defenders on those outside plays and it's the ball carrier's prerogative on whether or not to cut left or right, depending on whether or not the defender wants to blow out his knee or not.

Throw in the no-huddle with that offense, it'll wear a defense down. Did they say Auburn offense had 70+ plays, maybe 80.

The point is you can't install a different approach in one week. They ran the defenses they ran all year, and tried to make adjustments out of that-and as a consequence, there were a lot of missed assignments, indecision, and poor defensive reads. The UGA poster is spot on it what he said.

Looked at about 10 plays from 12 GT game and same from AU 13 and almost every play UGA was in their 3-4 with both OLB's up in press. Essentially the Dawgs were running a 5 Man Front with 2 ILB's within 5 Yards. Vs AU the Dawgs had 8 in the Box on many plays. When I say 3 front for MU I mean a 3-5-3, much different in structure then the 3-4 UGA runs.

I hope you were watching the UGA defense in the 2nd half of those games..... when the defense was successful.
Also the 2012 GT game wasn't so much defense, but UGA offense putting the GT offense in a corner. If I remember correctly, we won like 40 something to 9. Just grinding clock etc.... and remember UGA had 8 NFL draftees on that defense.

Stack the line stop the run. Poor defensive scheme today. Defense over hyped all year.

So Steck is stupid and people like you are obviously better at understanding basic principles of football. Steck should be fired because people like you are waiting in the wings to take over the position and make real men out of that defense.

Meh. We've seen Mizzou football against power running teams. And we've seen how we perform. Just like tonight. We're entitled to melt down a little and don't need your fricking high-horse attitude or a remedial lesson in football. Gfy and come back later when we're in a better mood.
