It is because he has insisted on trying a three man front all season. Every single series -- it results in a TD by the opposition.

EVERY FRICKING TIME

Fire Steck. Bastard.

Steck has sucked it up for years, the D played great this year because of the players making plays not our scheme EVER. Sorry look what tossing Yost did tot he O, getting a real SEC quality DC in here and we see a marked improvement.

Do yall understand how the triple option works? It's designed to get 300 yards per game on the ground. If you sell out the stop the middle run, it's a TD on the outside.

I'm not being a smartass, just telling it like it is. The only way to stop it is gap control with quality beasts at DT, with arms 5 feet long. Is that the DCs fault that the right personnel isn't there for the triple option?

No, it's the DCs fault that he has attempted to establish that damned three man front all season. Every single series it resulted in 6 points for the opposing team.

Christ a six-year-old can look at it and say, "Well, gosh, that doesn't seem to work for us."

We brought the pressure a couple of times this game. And it worked. Then Steck put the boys back into the three man front.

Bastard. Fire his arse.

I saw 4 plays where one block actually blocked 2 Mizzou players and one block took out 3 in that damn 3 man front.

They should have went with a 5 man line once in a while.

The backers did not tackle tonight. Very poor.

Yeah Rig I have coached football for 17 years and even coached the Wishbone as our O as well as the spread read option, and I am telling you a 3-5 or 4-2-5 look both SUCK vs a competent option.

Dave Matter ?@Dave_Matter 57m

Missouri safety Braylon Webb has set the SEC title game record with 19 tackles. Lots of missed tackles and assignments in front of him

dear lord our front seven sucked arse today.. idgaf it was the scheme or whatever... allowing the rb to get to the secondary that many times is just fail.

SEMO he broke a long 50 so or yard run and a thug POS Auburn player pushed him 5-6 yards out of bounds. Henry hit the sharp edge of a cart in the middle of his back. It was a pos play but Josey eventually returned

So you agree that your defensive coordinator shouldn't be fired based on Auburn's offensive success tonight.

Agree. Crazy as it sounds, Bama would have been a much better match-up for us.

You can't expect 18-22 year old's who have never seen this kind of offense to shut them off. Slowing down would have been nice, but it didn't really surprise me.

The last time Mizzou faced an offense like this was against Navy with the same result.

A different coach may have made some difference, but not much.

Not what I said, a 3 front or a nickel look was a horrible scheme vs a good option attack. Actually a nose stack is really hard for options to handle. We are mostly a base 4-3 team we could have switched to an Eagle look and rolled a backer up to press the outside. Also would have helped to bring the SS up in the box to have 8 to help vs run. If Marshall could throw on that look then let them win, I would never sit in a base D to the tune of giving up 550 Yards rushing. Hey this is not the only time Steck has irritated me. Our D lets almost any QB have career games, same lame arse scheme's as Shaw has exploited the last 2 years.

Missed tackles at the line lost this game. Some big plays on the outside, better plays could have put guys in better position. But the gashing plays up the middle nearly every one of them you see a missed tackle at the line.

Dave Matter ?@Dave_Matter 12m

Mizzou CB EJ Gaines to reporters: "I feel like some of y’all could have ran through the holes that were out there."

I was watching him all day and he played his arse off. Best tackler on the team no question.
