The OL played well and we moved the ball.

Crazy. I was assured he was a dumbass that knew nothing about offense and couldn’t call plays

One game doesn’t excuse a majority of games. When he actually puts multiple solid offensive games together in a row, then we will talk. Until then, STFU.

It was a good game, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Hopefully we see continued improvement. But, the first half of the season left fans screaming at their TVs for a reason.

Yes, because the OL wasn’t blocking and the QB was throwing the ball to the other team.

Crazy how much better things look when the players execute, isn’t it? It’s almost like the problem never was “play calling” and it was players not doing their jobs all along. Hmmmm….

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

He still needs to hire an OC. The OL did play better.

If we had just beat Auburn I’m feeling so much better about this season. I’m still not a fan of Cook and still hope Horn has a legit shot at starting next year. But the team is progressing. The defense is night and day compared to week 1. Lovett is turning into a star before our eyes. Progress.

Binary thinking is cool.

Drink could be a good football coach and still fail in the SEC.

This is a top .1% job in the profession. Lots of good coaches have failed in this league. Harsin is a good coach and he’s going to get fired without even really getting a chance to succeed. Jimbo is a good coach and he’s failing in spectacular fashion.

I'm just going to throw this out there, I know it may not be popular but here we go...

1. Still called the same east, west plays but SC is the first team who couldn't set the edge. They were terrible with the exception being their true freshman safety who got hurt.

2. Hasn't developed quick pass plays for the RZ despite having a great possession receiver in Bannister. No pick plays, crossing or slants. This is where the team needs his offensive genius.

3. Has no apparent plays for the TE especially in the RZ.

4. Trick plays are looking really dumb. Snap to Burden who immediately gives it to Cook. "Who was that supposed to fake out?"

5. This was not a great game by Cook. He didn't throw for 300, or a single TD. He threw into dbl coverage and got a gift from the ref. What he did was not "lose the game" for the team. An offense is not effective if it is left to crossing your fingers and hoping your QB doesn't screw things up.

6. Much like Affirmative Action, you get a true picture of what people think about you, when they bend the rules so you look successful. We measure and rightfully praise the DC for his product he puts on the field. With Drink, he isn't held to that same standard. His product, supposedly, is hampered by the very people he is charged with developing.

Drink hired a DC that he was friends with and had no real DC experience. And he got damn lucky. He needs to pull another rabbit out of the hat for an OC. JMHO. Elon Musk, my insect overlord, said I have the freedom to post this. Just not on Twitter.

JQ, you are giving yourself too much credit. Drink appears to be a work in progress. Not surprising considering his resume.

I'm more neutral than most, but next year will be the "Prove it" year. By the end of the 2023 season he'll either be extended or fired.

Never said that dumbass. I said he wasn’t the moron y’all assured me that he was. He’s a good coach. He knows what he is doing and his teams play hard. He’s going to continue to make you all look foolish as he gets better talent on offense.

Football is about players.

It almost like…wait for it, they aren’t awful plays and work when they are executed correctly.

Amazing how this works, no? I wonder if anyone has been on the board telling you all that you don’t even know what you’re bitching about. Bitching about play calling is, has been, and will always be the low football IQ go to for fans of every team everywhere.

1. I think we all agree that was one of the worst top 25 teams we've ever faced.

2. I am low on Spencer Rattler, who got benched against Big 12 defenses last year.

3. Drink somehow is undefeated against South Carolina for something like 4 years in a row. More power to him if he gets up for the cock.

Kentucky is the real test, they have had our number for a few years now. I think this is an evenly matched game now.

This has been a weird, transitory year. And it's probably going to continue.

Baker was the DC for two years at Miami. Miami fans came on the SEC Rant saying he is a bad hire. He sucked when he was Miami DC for two years. He even lost his play calling duty in his second year. What really help Baker was going to LSU as LB coach for 1 year. Kelly didn't keep him from the previous held over from Ed Orgeron staff. That helped him get the experienced in the SEC. He just fell right into Drinkwitz lap and when he actually spent time with him, and he really wanted him as the DC. I believe he courage the current DC to go back to coaching in the NFL. Boom it all worked out great!
One LSU fan said he is a good hired for the cornerback/LB coach. The LBs was the biggest improvement on the defense at LSU. He wanted him at LSU. But Kelly didn't.

You’re correct on all fronts, but I do think there is something to be said about winning on the road with a hostile crowd.

I think usc is vastly over ranked, but I worried more about that game than UK.
