Come by and have a beer at my tailgate youins! I have never matriculated my way to Jonesboro (thankfully) but when the woman and I get down there I will update this thread so you wonderful fellers and lassies can come by and say something clever.
I figure if Killz and SEMO can survive meeting us then you probably can too.
We are here. By the baseball stadium. Corner of red wolf and aggie Rd. Black suv. Checkered Mizzou canopy and attempting to set up TV ha.

Is Jonesboro in a dry county? I almost got a ticket in the late-90's for having some Natty Light. Cop made me poor out over 80 cans. Then followed me to dumpster to make sure I threw them away. I was in between Walnut Ridge and Jonesboro.
Arkansas sucks!

Sounds like we should pack some solo cups?

I believe jonesboro is a dry county, but there are several bars/clubs.
I know jackson county is wet. If you guys are going that way.
My county Independence is mostly dry. Cave city only sells beer at gas stations. Also, home of the worlds sweetest watermelon.
If you guys need help on anything else let me know.

Found a parking map for game day at Arky state. Looks like we will be paying 20 bucks and parking near the convocation center in green lots or something. I will update when we get there.

Jonesboro is 100 percent in a dry county which means alcohol is not served in that county nor the city itself. You will not find a bar (that you can visit, that is) in Jonesboro city limits.
However, drinking alcohol in Jonesboro is legal. You simply have to bring your alcohol with you.
Make sure you know the county/city ordinances though. Some dry counties only allow a certain amount of alcohol to be transported within a vehicle.
Also, be careful in Jonesboro. Jonesboro is a sobriety check happy city. The last two times I drove thru Jonesboro at night on my way to New Orleans I got stuck in sobriety checks.
They don't mess around in Jonesboro.

This I can do.

This I don't want to do.

False, I am a season ticket holder for stAte and I promise you can find a bar if you want one. You can drink beer at a tailgate just use a beer tittie or a cup. The bootlegging laws used to exist, I am not so sure anymore if they do but the limits back when I was in school in the 90's was pretty high, enough to get a group drunk. If you really do want some information about Jonesboro just ask, I can let you know anything you need to know.

Do they have "drinking clubs" instead of bars? You pay an annual fee to be a member

Everywhere is supposed to require a membership, they might make you sign something but there isn't a fee anymore. At least there isn't a fee at the places I frequent. The Brick House, Skinny J's, or Creegans Pub is where I generally go when I come to town.

I was just in Jonesboro about two months ago. Stopped to eat at a Mexican restaurant. Waiter said they still don't serve alcohol in the city limits. Dry county. Dude actually said the following:
"It was voted down not long ago but by a slim margin. The vote will occur again and we're confident that we'll be able to serve alcohol in the near future. Keep your fingers crossed!"
I laughed and shook my head.
However, I don't have a clue what the law is in regards to bars.

My wife is a foodie. So what are some spots I should consider taking her? Stuff that the locals like or something famous for whatever they serve?

from wiki:
Jonesboro is in a dry county, but there are three dozen restaurants and clubs in town that serve alcohol and membership is not generally required. Downtown Jonesboro is home to nine bars including Cregeens Irish Pub, Skinny Js, the Brickhouse Grill, Godseys Grill, Vino's, Don Jose's, Omar's Uptown, Kimono, and Napoli's, all clustered in a three block area.

I have no idea what a beer tittle is but it's sounds delightful I must say.
