I wasn't sure on Musselman. I considered him but wasn't sure he had enough time in the college ranks.

His record in the developmental pro leagues is really good. He also came in second to Pop in NBA coach of the year while at Golden State.
As a college assistant he really helped both ASU and LSU have their best years under those coaches.

I don't know that he will be on Sterk's list but I think that Keatts recruiting STL and KC has a lot of upside.

I'll kick in the first ten dollars of Jacobson's salary.

we have no idea who is even interested but since we are just spitballin

jacobson, cronin, mcdermott, miller, and marshall would be high on my list.

followed by crean, c. martin, and keatts

and I'll be surprised if we wind up with any of those

As in George Karl is the only coach with a higher win percentage in the CBA.

Keatts coached at a top prep school, I would bet that he has contacts from there or from his time at Louisville.

If not he can hire an assistant with those contacts. That could be someone like Fulford, who has been recruiting the area already for Mizzou.

Mizzou shouldn't hire Keatts because he has the best local connections, he should be hired if he's the best guy for the job. Which he may be.

Keatts has done well, but I'm a little surprised this board seems all in on a guy from the east coast with a sum total of 2.5 years head coaching experience in the colonial athletic conference.

Then again maybe I'm not surprised

Basketball recruiting is less local/regional than football.

Keatts instant turnaround has been really impressive UNCW went from last in their conference to 3 straight conference championships immediately. UNCW's KenPom ranking pre Keatts was 280, they are now 57. What's not to like.

Musselman has had a similar improvement, didn't win the MWC immediately, but had a bigger win improvement in year 1. Nevada was 271 in KenPom pre Musselman, they are now 69.

I'm gonna tell you a secret.
A black head coach will help us recruit St. Louis.

Marshall and Crean would be my top two as well if we are just throwing out names.

Marshall because he's Greg Marshall, and Crean because I think his style is a very good fit here and he has a name brand that can help stop the sieve of talent flowing from STL every year.
