Makes you wonder if a cash transfer occurred. Of the final 4 Texas makes the least sense.

frick the Longhorns.

Gabe DeArmond
?
@GabeDeArmond
Reminder: this is not exclusive to Courtney Ramey or Mizzou but every recruit who has ever chosen a school other than the one you root for obviously did it because that other school cheated

There's a lot of melting going around Mizzou nation over this.

The only reason I would accuse Texas of paying up for Ramey is the shady shite that went down with Louisville when they got caught cheating and Ramey was committed at the time to Rick Pitino(frick that old cheating bastard). It's not crazy to think Ramey would be looking to accepted money a second time if he was given the chance.

That, or Smart really is just a great recruiter and Ramey really liked the campus. Who knows?

I get it though. Sure, we picked up two very talented point guards in the last few weeks, but at the end of the day, we gave up two scholarships for point guards that won't have an immediate impact on the court that we'd hoped for, seeing as how they both have to sit for a year. Missing on Ramey sucks because now we have a senior who just isn't that great and a 3* true freshmen to play PG for us THIS season and that's it.

Best case scenario: Pinson proves he's a baller at the college level and Giest improves.

Worst case scenario: Giest continues to be Giest and turn the ball over a thousand times and Pinson plays like a true freshmen.

The issue I have is the Ramey’s asking Mizzou more or less to re recruit him and then not choosing them. Cuonzo knew he wansnt coming initially until they switched their tune. Seems as though that tune never really changed though on their end. He also was most likely a pay for play at the Ville originally. I like the roster and recruiting trends, but don’t like taking a yr off. Hopefully they can surprise. IF Tilton were able to stay in a game and develops they’d have one of the better bigs in the country to build around.

Shaka is a really good recruiter. It doesn’t hurt when recruits see the huge fan base either.

That crazy fan base that blue blood schools have is a great recruiter. Texas is not a blue blood basketball school, but the school is full of crazy sports fans.

Pinson has a lot of development to do. He didn't even run the point for his HS team most of the time. I do think he has a nice ceiling though, he's an incredible athlete.

Next year is going to be rough. Yr 1 of the rebuild. Zo was able to delay it by one year, but KA's shot roster will catch up with him. Im at peace with it. Next class should be huge and '20 will be the year we start moving forward again.

Simeon was Talen Horton Tucker's team and everything ran through him, but Pinson was their real floor general. If Jontay comes back and we still have a scholly left and Hinson chooses us next week we will be a decent team as the season progresses next season.

Pinson needs to work on his defense.(he has a habit of losing his man sometimes) His handles are sick and we could have used some of that last year.

Is it wrong though? I’m inclined to believe everyone is cheating. Some just better than others.

The STL kids like to have Missouri press. I feel like the Rameys didn’t feel like his recruitment was enough of an event without Mizzou in the mix.

I’d be surprised if money isn’t changing hands for 80% or the top 75-100 HS players. It may be a handler or a coach or a family member, but it’s going to someone. When we’re finding out that top 50 players are getting 5 figure payouts, I assume they’re happening all the time.

And this isn’t sour grapes about Ramey. I’d assume that if he committed to us, we are improving in the bagman department.

Not sour grapes because I've heard it from more than one person that is how we ended up getting JT.

If Mizzou has paid players our boosters won’t pay as much as some of the blue blood schools.

Maybe we had the boosters they would pay in early to mid-90’s. With the coaching carousel we have had in the last 20 years even with bag men it’s hard to get recruits to sign when they can get they same money elsewhere.

Honestly I'm not that upset we missed on Ramey. Guy seriously sounds like a drama queen and a me first kind of guy. I really wonder if he would have bought into Cuonzo's style of play. I'm more interested in what happens with Jontay and who the hell replaces him at 4/5 if he leaves. That's way bigger of an issue. That and replacing Robertson/Barnett is going to be tough.

I think we might be in for a 15 win season this year.

Especially with Smart and Texas. I believe they are part of the adidas scandal, and wasn't it Bamba's brother or stepbrother who went public with payment accusations?

LOT of smoke around Smart's program there to just dismiss questions about money as sour grapes.

Maybe it was something as simple as Smart hiring his Daddy as an assistant coach before he would commit?

Either way I'll focus on the players we have and can still get.
